Where is the REX 45 Millie?

#1

Post by senorsquare »

The REX45 PM2 and Para 3 have come and gone weeks ago and still no sign of the Military. Any word on an ETA?

I have the Para 3 version and love it but the Military is the one that most piques my interest in this steel (although a REX45 Shaman would be a great combo, I'm not holding my breath for that one).

Agree with all of the above...besides the Para 3. I’m one of the weird people with big hands that just can’t do the Para 3 thing.

This knife addiction is getting ridiculous:)

Of course the Rex45 Mili is highly anticipated by us non-Trump handers. The great color, awesome steel, and the quality control changes make this a potential “grail” Military for some.

I feel fortunate to have found the Green G-10 204 Mili because it’s my favorite knife of all time(about 30 years of using pocket knives). The 204 is also the only knife I have doubles of...because I got very lucky and was able to get a 2nd at a very fair price.

It seems like we only get new Milis released once in a while, so I’m chomping at the bit to score this one.

No doubt, my most anticipated spyderco ever. I think spyderco would basically be printing money if they did a shaman in this flavor too.

Still getting my weekly notice from Knifecenter that my order is still in process. So the wait continues. It does get my hopes up unnecessarily every week though.

Double down and actively try to purchase elsewhere... Knifecenter.com had failed me with their preorder process.

Fool me once... Etc etc...

I missed both the paramilitary 2 and para 3 sprints relying on their preorder process and emails filed with false promises.

Worst case you end up with two and can gift one to family or flip it.

I may be one of the oddballs with large hands who actually prefers the Para 3 ergos over the PM2. I find the squared off edges of the PM2 are uncomfortable and the point behind the 50/50 choil is in exactly the wrong place for my hands. Oh well, it's fortunate that Spyderco has so many great models to choose from, a little something for everyone. The Military is still one of my all-time favorites for comfortable ergos, that knife is just so nice in the hand.

I like the overall knife. Which is strange, because I’m also a “big” knife guy. It’s the large ramp caused by the thumb hole. Even with my crazy double jointed thumb, it is so uncomfortable. My thumb literally folds in half, the wrong way when I grip the knife.

"non Trump handers" ? Care to explain?

The presidency of Donald Trump began at noon EST on January 20, 2017, when Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President of the United States, succeeding Barack Obama. So definitely anyone holding a Rex 45 are Trump believers. I mean, it's in the name: Rex 45.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it has to do with Trump's small hands, so "Trump handers" as in small handed people.

I took this to mean left handers.

Never liked the para 3. The pm2 is almost too small and I do not have what I'd call "big" hands.
