Once again I'll be home on Nov. 17 and wishing I was there. I always enjoy seeing everyone's hauls.

It’s a three hour drive for me, each way. I don’t relish spending hours in a wheelchair especially in mid-November in Golden so I will likely pass. Likely…

What is the farthest anyone has traveled specifically for this sale and how many did you buy to justify the savings offsetting the travel costs?

If you visit Colorado and all you do is go knife shopping, you're doing it wrong. The sights justify the trip by themselves :)

I usually go since I'm local, though I'm not crazy enough to camp out or anything. Some of the knives seem to be near perfect to my eyes, so it's always fun to try to figure out the flaws on those ones. I'm guessing maybe some of them might just be "open box" customer returns that have nothing wrong with them other than not being technically "new". Definitely some great deals to be found.

This. There's a reason we have one of -- if not the #1 -- fastest growing population in the USA!

Definitely a roll of the dice in November! Not uncommon to have blizzard snow in the teens one day then a beautiful day of sunshine in the sixtys the next.

I assume the pic from the Byte is right before they open at 8. How many people camp out and for how many days before? Definitely going to make it up this year, undecided if it will be the night before of the morning of. Seems like it would be fun sitting around talking :spyder: under the stars with y'all on 820 Spyderco Way.

Well I don't expect for it to equal out because going with my friends and wife is half the fun but I did get good deals last time. We drove about 1300 miles round trip. Stayed in an AirBNB for $100 a night. We almost got stuck with nothing special because we got there so close to the start we were pretty far back in line. Someone else finished looking through a stack of blades and picking what they wanted to buy and the employee brought the box over to me.. I saw it and started picking all the special blades I could see. Found about 15 or so awesome ones and those were pretty much all the ones my friends and I bought.

Brand new Lil Lion Spy $100
Brand new Pygmy Warrior was $50
Seconds Advocate $120
Seconds Jade M4 Manix $65
Seconds Maxamet Manix LWT $75
S30V, VG10, M4, XHP, BD1, Cruwear, Elmax, Maxamet, 204P, H1, K390, A11, Rex45, LC200N, M390, 20CV, BD1N, S45VN waiting to afford MagnaCut

I wish I could go. But it's far, far away. I I only had world enough, and time.

That sounds like a fun trip though, and you got some great deals! Are they marked "seconds" or "s" anywhere? I've seen a number of people say they can't find the flaw that would make them a second. I buy a lot of my Spydies on eBay so I would hate to be buying a second that someone bought to flip as "new".

The seconds have a small notch cut on the spine

seconds are marked by a small notch on the spine near the opening hole.
