Hello fellow Spydie nuts!

Post by TkoK83Spy »

Hi everyone! My name is James and I've found anytime I google anything about Spyderco knives, that threads from this forum usually pop up. I decided it's time to finally join this small niche of enthusiasts instead of just poking around. I've been collecting for a couple years now and have 15 Spyderco knives in my collection, obviously nothing compared to some of you! I'd like to thank many of you for your posts regarding releases of sprints/exclusives over the past year. You guys are the sole reason I've been able to acquire some of my favorite knives. I look forward to joining and participating in discussions about knives, as I don't have many friends with this same interest.

Hey tko, welcome to the forum. Spyderco is a great company making great tools and always pushing the performance envelope with new designs and new steels. There is a very knowledgeable, helpful and polite group of folks here on the forum too. Again, welcome.

It’s not the size that counts it’s how you use them. Welcome!

Thank you for the welcome posts everyone, even from Sal himself!

The exclusives I've been able to pick up are the Para3 Rex45 and Blade HQ Para3/DLC. I like various models, but Para 3's have been in my pocket a lot lately. Next I'm eyeing the StNicks Para3 or the Cutlery Shoppe Para3. It was the thread posted regarding the StNicks exclusive that made me pull the trigger and finally join. Now I only have a few days to debate which of those 2 upcoming exclusives I want! Really don't NEED both.

Welcome to the municipality of Spyderville TKO :) And while you're here please do a serious test drive of some of The Spyderedge ( fully serrated) models. You'll quickly become a convert!! I'm certain of it :D The Salt Series is a great place to start for your "USER" models.

Also don't overlook the great line up of fixed blades that just gets better every day. Also don't overlook many of Spyderco's past/older models>> you'll quickly see why the company got as popular as it has.

But be forewarned that USING and COLLECTING Spyderco's blades is extremely habit forming :D Also don't overlook their great line up of sharpening equipment. Enjoy your stay  You are among friends :)

I actually do have 1 serrated knife, the Salt 2...one of my most used and favorites! Do a lot of gardening work with it as well as being my camping knife along with a machete. I started with Kershaw knives and then a couple years ago I bought my first Spyderco (Manix 2 LW) and I haven't turned back since!

I’m in the same boat as you. Wanted one of the orange and black xhp para’s for a long time. Now we have it in red too with 4v no less. Ugh.
And October is around the corner. Not sure what is going to be discontinued, but I want to be ready. If the hundred pacer, opus, or chinook is discontinued, I’m getting one.
