Not a fan. But if they could get that tiny writing down the spine of the blade (which seems impossible), that might be cool.

+1 I do like the way that companies like Adventure Sworn mark the steel on the spine...O1, A2, 3V, etc. It would be cool to see on a thicker blade like the Manix XL or if they ever release a sprint of the original C95 Manix. A C95 Manix sprint with CPM-4V down the spine would be something else! :D

Meh collectors club have crap on the blade, special forum knives have crap on the blade
The special military blades have crap on the blade.
Random special ones have crap on the blade.

It just depends on what crap you place value in I guess.

I'm not a fan of it. I also prefer to avoid collector club knives but I've bought them when the price was fair and I really wanted the knife. Makes it easier to use.

I think they should leave the blades blank with the Spyderco logo, Sal and Eric's marks, and include inserts in the box letting people know it's a special / limited edition. I wanted to buy the forum S90V PM2, but passed because of that.
Bet they would sell a lot more.

No extra markings please! Except that Sal should include his maker’s mark on his designs.

Don't mind added markings myself but, as has been noted here, some folks don't like any writing on their blades beyond the tang stamp. Still I'd rather see every knife in a 1000 knife run marked "1 of 1000" as it would be more legitimate that pretending that the knife marked 0012 of 1000, or 0027 of 1000, or 0369 of 1000 was actually the 12th, 27th, or 369th knife off the assembly line rather than just the 12th, 27th, or 369th knife run through the laser engraver. And, since time is money, doing that would also save a few cents, since the machine would only need to be set once.
