I thought the factory shipped to Spyderco HQ and from there it went out to dealers.

Hi guys, the Techno 2 is already available in Taiwan (where it's manufactured)!
I just got one yesterday and have been playing with it for a while. Here's a video overviewing some of its features:

I don't mind the standoffs...
but why they had to use that blahhh color green...ugh!
I'll wait to see it up close before I make final judgement.
Looks like there is gonna be a big aftermarket for spacers on this.
I personally think the green standoffs look pretty nice. Though I would also love a backspacer for carrying the knife with a bunch of keys just because the blade is so thick and needs some protection...

Looking forward to hearing some reports on the Techno 2.
I noticed that the lockbar cutout is larger - perhaps because the ti is thicker. I wonder if that larger thinned out section is uncomfortable to grip.

Has anyone been able to compare both versions of the Techno in a slicing test yet? I'm just curious how much better the thinner blade stock will perform for slicing tasks.

Just picked mine up this morning. Beautiful knife and I much prefer the blade shape to the original Techno. I do not care for the placement of the wire clip. It sits too high on the knife (ala Positron) and is definitely noticeable in the hand. I modified a deep carry clip for a Leek and mounted it via its front hole on the screw for the wire clip. Sits dead center on handle and all the way at the back of the knife. It’s much better in the hand that way and doesn’t look back either. That said, I have some additional mods to the clip planned to make it look like it is OEM. Great knife. I sliced apples with it and it did well. Not Chapparel well, but then again, very well for the thickness of the blade stock. Definitely a keeper.

Hmm that's interesting...
my original felt perfect to me the first time I held it and never even thought about changing anything.
My Techno has always felt great and looked great... just never cut great!
The Techno 2 seems like it should be a better slicer/cutter...I hope with the same charm as the original.
