I had one very small spot of surface rust right over the "Golden Colorado" stamp on my PM2, no idea why & haven't had any problems since.

My PM2 is one of the my most used knives since it dropped and looks like new other than a spot at the very tip.

I pruned a bottle brush tree in our yard to do some edge testing when I first received my Para 3. I carved on some of the branches and got some staining. BTW, the edge stability was phenomenal. It would still shave after this.

I haven’t cut any food, but nothing else has affected mine, including a LOT of humid Florida carry.

You have Aussie Bottlebrush!

The Bottlebrush family seems to have the potential to stain blades quite easily if cut wet. Sometimes it initially stains the blade with purple, blue and pinky shades that turn very dark ... black over time.

No patina here yet but I very much like what I’m seeing from Rex45 so far. :)

I've bought secondhand Navice in CPM REX 45, one day cut the apple and two days after I found this.

After twoish years in rotation, my Para3 and Native 5 are just fine. No noticeable corrosion.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Some weeks ago I acquired a LNIB REX45 Native Chief from an eBay seller in humid Louisiana.

This nicely-priced knife was, on closer inspection, not actually what first seemed perfect out of the box. The seller’s detailed pictures certainly gave no hint of imperfection.

Tiny droplets (as if from a spray before shipment or some peculiar condensation during shipment) evidently produced spots of rust in the small distance between the blade’s logo and spine.

My gentle and deliberate sandpapering with fine grits and a drop of oil removed the corrosive buildup on the blade’s surface but also exposed a few indentations where corrosion ate just below the finish.

I’ve managed to blend this damage into the finish’s grind lines without messing up the logo, and can live with this now almost imperceptible imperfection.

My Military Model’s and Manix2’s REX45 have shown patina’s foggy precursor only on the former, even in New Hampshire’s recent rainy and very hot summer.

True - and together with that blades patina even more so!
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):

-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Yes Copper. It's the Blade HQ special. In the pre-relase videos Eric said it was a nightmare to produce, everyone had to white glove them to avoid starting a patina.
