You are definitely right about that. I attempted to rub off any “depositing” from the seal before posting, but didn’t use any liquid. I have since used oil and have gotten most of it off. It seems the coating has been rubbed off in some areas, but those areas may have been weakened by past use/friction in the pocket. Either way, this knife shows plenty of scratching whereas my DLC coated knives show no wear whatsoever. I don’t use my nice knives hard, but my pacific salt was given to me unused with metal showing where the coating should be in some areas.
Having said all that, I believe TiCN is good enough for its intended uses. It was obviously chosen for a reason, DLC is just better in my experience.
ST. Nicks Exclusive Delica
Re: ST. Nicks Exclusive Delica
The coating on the pac salt wears of pretty fast, (so do the serrations :P)
I don't mind though.
But the dlc on my First Pm2 looks almost like its brand New,, Good stuff.. :)

Re: ST. Nicks Exclusive Delica
yeah, second day using mine for work (clay supply warehouse) i am noticing some wear in the coating just above the spydie hole and along the spine on the corners. still not much on the flats of the blade though, and the edge is still pretty impressive although not out of the box sharp.

Dude - what are you doing with that knife??? You are a serious user! My Pac Salt has seen some good use but still looks MUCH better then yours.

Thank you for the pics and details on this one guys. After debating for too many days I finally took the plunge and bought mine. So glad I did. Definitely has a distinct and beautiful look. Always loved my original Delica, and this one is really unique. I blinked, and suddenly they were down to a dozen in stock.
