A vendor here in Europe has got a few in stock. Really trying to justify getting one because I own 5 pm2's already. S30v all black, red m390, Grey cruwear and kc smooth g10 cruwear and a S110V one.

Very interested in this though. The cruwear and m390 are my favorite ones(Hap 40 delica and caly 3 HAP40 following closely) as well as my edc of choice among all in my collection, so I feel I have my bases covered quite well but.. Rex 45 seems very interesting. I heard it was comparable to hap 40? How is sharpening Rex 45 compared to those steels? Considering the hrc is quite a bit higher I wonder.

Cheers buddy. I assumed this would be the central discussion thread about the pm2 Rex 45.

Looks very interesting, I'm gonna wait a few more days and see if a cruwear/Rex 45 comparison gets posted. I feel pretty content with my options already, but the more I look the weaker my resolve gets haha.

I started with a orange delica as my gatewaydrug, and I still hold it dear. After 20 knives (70 percent spyderco, some bm's and some of the alluring blades from so and so) I keep grabbing my pm2 for most everything. It's kinda hard to beat in all around balance of ergonomics, cutting performance and durability. And the ffg blade is very easy to work with when sharpening with my apex pro.
If Rex 45 truly lives up to the current positive feedback obtaining a orange pm2 feels like a nice homage to the awesome orange delica I trust and love and abused.

Thankfully sprint runs don't sell out fast here. Managed to grab the Grey cruwear and a second caly 3 HAP40 sprint easily a month after launch. Hopefully it's still available when I fall for temptation.

Got mine yesterday from Knivesplus, went to move the pocket clip and looks like the screws are stripped! Never seen this before I wonder if this was a return.

Happened to me twice. Not that they were returned, but I stripped the screws. I think the screws are short so they don’t interfere with the pivot. Have to be careful when moving them; push down hard when tightening them, but don’t over tighten. Hair longer screw should grab just fine.

This is my 32nd Spyderco and my frist stripped clip screws! And it wasn't just one screw either. I barely turned the **** thing and it just spun around with no resistance so I pulled out a magnifier and you can see the threads are smashed down. Good thing I can't use Spyderco clips on my Para3's so I have a few spares.

As long as it is the screw and not the liner! Glad you are able to sort it out on your own. :)

I can say that I am a little ways past 32 ;) and I have not had a stripped screw yet. I did buy a used knife with a stripped screw hole in the liner and I did strip out the crappy aluminum backspacer in a Military once. I am so glad they got rid of those backspacers and switched to standoffs.

I couldn't believe that it stripped for real. It didn't even have resistance before and I'm not sure how I would have done it to all 3 screws so I kinda think there must have been an issue with them before I touched them. Guess next time I'll have to check them before I move them

In light of the above clip screw issue, I had an issue I guess I'll share. For some, my experience might be helpful.

I found that, on at least 2 of my recently manufactured PM2s (KC smooth G10 Cruwear and Rex 45), the g10 and threaded liner holes are not concentric, causing the pocket clip screws to tilt and risk not threading properly.

I damaged several pocket clip screws beyond hope before figuring it out. Fortunately, the liners are of hardened stainless (undamaged), and the screws are not. Once I figured it out, I was careful to verify thread engagement and keep the pocket clip screws straight as I tightened. I don't touch them anymore.

If you don't want to mess with them, or there is a different issue, just send it in. I didn't want to spend more time and money on it, so I dealt with it.

I have 15 PM2 and two had similar stripped screw discovered when moving the pocket clip.
I examined the screws under 10x magnification after struggling to engage the threads.
I am very careful to lightly start the screw threads prior to tightening to low torque.
Apparently someone at Spyderco has a heavy hand when assembling pocket clips with the blasted tiny T6 screws.

Easily replaced after purchasing some spare screws/clips from Spyderco Customer Service.

My Rex 45 PM2 also came with a stripped clip screw, I contacted Spyderco and had replacement screws a few days later at no charge. It was unfortunate that the screw came stripped, but I felt like Spyderco took care of me and it was a simple process, they just wanted a picture of the stripped screw. Good luck!
So it goes.

So sad :/ I don’t know how that gets past QC.
I have a Drangonfly that arrived with stripped pocket clip screws, too. Thats both sides! (I believe) Luckily the eBay seller gave me a partial return, but now I’m wondering if maybe it was Spyderco who was to blame for that one. Now I just have to find a way to get them out, but I’ll contact Spyderco for some fresh replacements.

If they would just make pm2 tip up by default I probably wouldn't even know haha. I think I've heard people say its tip down because it sits deeper in the pocket. Well how do you explain the para3 then

Spyderco does seem to like cqi but almost seems sometimes to be stuck in its ways

Just my opinion

Update: No contact from SFO yet, it's about 11 am there. Did hear back from the vender knivesplus and I'm glad to report no way it was a return that someone messed up, they do take returns but they don't resell those on the site, they sell for a discount in their brick and mortar
