Para 3 compared to Native 5 G10
Para 3 compared to Native 5 G10
ANyone have any side by side comparison photos of the Para 3 and the Native 5 g10 that you could share. I have a Native. I am just trying to figure out if I want a Para 3.
Re: Para 3 compared to Native 5 G10
I don't have a pic handy at the moment but they have very similar size and ergos. I have to think that if you like the Native, you'll like the Para 3

I only have linerless g10 to compare. The Para3 is slightly thicker. Not much, but it is.

Hi Don -
These two are very similar in size (as clearly seen in the pictures above). However..at least in my crazy opinion..the Para 3 seems to carry much larger than the Native g10..I think.. due to the humped Spydiehole in the blade, which, pushing against the outer edge of the pocket in right-hand-tip-up carry, allows for more of the handle to gravitate towards the center of your pocket. Also, I prefer deep carry pocket clips and have them on all of my knives (Lynch on my Para 3, MXG on my Native)..due to the layout of the lanyard hole on the Para 3, it still rides just a little bit out of the pocket, whereas my Native all but disappears in my pocket.
These issues aren't really that big of a deal and are largely based on personal preference. And don't get me wrong, the Para 3 is by no means a "large" knife. Ergonomically, I really love both of these knives.. but I still find myself carrying my Native a lot more than my Para 3 and I can't argue with that.
For whatever it's worth..
That said.. if I were you, I'd still definitely get a Para 3..

I like the N5 better in every way
Re: Para 3 compared to Native 5 G10
I prefer the compression lock on my para 3 to my native 5's backlock. For that reason my para 3 almost always wins out against my native 5. Either way, you can't go wrong as both knives are excellent.
Re: Para 3 compared to Native 5 G10
I recommend a Native 5 G10 with liners. I've got some custom scales on the way for one of mine.

Thanks for all that replied. The pics really help. I think I will order a para 3 and see if I like it. I love the Native 5 I was just thinking of giving the compression lock another try. I have never really liked it. I tried a Superleaf and the para 2, but sold them pretty quick. Its been a few years, so I will give the compression lock another chance.

Re: Para 3 compared to Native 5 G10
The Native 5 is my all time favorite model. The LW, G10, and linerless G10 models are all great, and the LW is my current favorite due to prefering less weight for summer edc. The Dragonfly 2 is my 2nd favorote model. So I love small knives for EDC. That said, I didnt really love the Para 3 and sold my M390 blade. Ill probably still pickup a Cruwear Para 3 if I find a deal so I can give it a chance, but the M390 one I had wasnt really doing it for me ergo wise. I have and love larger knives like the Military, Manix, and PM2, but I prefer the smaller stuff for EDC. The Para 3 doesnt really fill any gaps for me.
