Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
Used Midnight navy synthetic rit dye to create a dark blue to lighter blue fade to my delica. Started off as the basic blue colored vg10 delica. I’m happy with the results.
And here it is beside a knifejoy steel blue delica, for comparison.

looks good! pretty subtle, but enough to make it stand out from the stock version.

Thanks! Yeah that’s what I like about it too. Just a subtle gradient.
A word of advice if anyone uses the midnight navy dye. This was done in only a few seconds. I used the same stuff to try to add a navy color to some green bugout scales and after about 30 seconds they came out completely black. It gets very dark, very fast.

Definitely co-signing here, got mine so dark once you basically have to turn it over in your hands and squint in direct sunlight before you go "oh yeah, I guess that's blue?"Ranger_Ike wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:00 pmThanks! Yeah that’s what I like about it too. Just a subtle gradient.

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
Thanks for the tips , I have been wanting to try a dye sometime and have been following discussions. Beautiful job hope it stays out of your sock drawer ! Ha ! MG2Ranger_Ike wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 3:00 pmThanks! Yeah that’s what I like about it too. Just a subtle gradient.

Has anyone tried to dye the new green salt series anything other than black? The ability to dye that light yellow was one of my favorite things about the series.

That shade of red looks great! I’ve got a Polestar and Alcyone on the way and I might try something like that.

It is Cherry Red. The only color my Walmart had. I was looking for purple but the red came out nice.PocketShredder wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:34 amThat shade of red looks great! I’ve got a Polestar and Alcyone on the way and I might try something like that.

Dyed my Salt I from yellow to black. Was debating giving the Spyderhawk the same treatment, but ultimately decided to keep it as is for now.

Brilliant colors, especially with the fruit background. Is that the Spyderhawk's stock color? I love it.PocketShredder wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 8:44 pm

RS - That G-10 Delica looks really sharp. I like the navy. Kicking myself again for passing on one years ago when the price was more reasonable.RadioactiveSpyder wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:44 amOriginally a foliage green G10 Delica, navy blue RIT dye...

Re: Post up your Rit dye projects..
Hey! I used gray Rit Dye, the powdered kind, and literally dipped it in there for 5 seconds at a time. I knew it would go quick so I would dunk in the dye, pull, rinse in cold water, and repeat.
