Any news on the Lc200n Pacific Salt? Sal?

#1

Post by Surfingringo »

I really need a ffg plain edge Pacific Salt in my life! Sal mentioned he was carrying a prototype several months ago. I wonder if this is getting any closer to reality? An Lc200n Pacific Salt could quickly become my most carried folder...both on the water and off.

As much as I like the idea the Endura4 handle style might be a trade-off for me. I only hope it's going to be thinner behind the edge than the usual japanese produced blades are. Those aside, I must find a skilled guy to regrind that hump for me :D

Unless I'm imagining things (it's happened before), I seem to remember Sal stating that the first batch of LC200N Pac Salts would be using the existing platform. If that is the case, I definitely second Gringo, this crossbreed may indeed become *the* EDC for me during summers...

Good post.
Yes, I am eagerly waiting for this one to drop.
Hope it comes in black in current (endura 3 handle)

Also waiting patiently for the Waterway. :)

I am also waiting (patiently?) for the LC200N Pac Salt...and I do believe that Sal mentioned that they would first be rolled out in the current (Endura 3) handle and then later in the Endura 4 handle.

hopefully the first ones will come with the E3 handle which I much prefer,
if they are like the E3 I'll stock on them as probably they'll be my favorite new Spydies!!

so excited

This is the highest on my list of must have's. After this, the Waterway, and the Bow river drop, I can finally take a break...

Edit: Maybe a Rex45 Millie, and a Kapara :o

Yes I can’t wait for this one. I remember a while back a mention of a possible E3 handle with gray scales. That would be my grail.

I wonder what the hold up is on this knife and the Native?
I Pray Heaven to Bestow The Best of Blessing on THIS HOUSE, and on ALL that shall hereafter Inhabit it. May none but Honest and Wise Men ever rule under This Roof! (John Adams regarding the White House)

Follow the Christ, the King,
Live pure, speak true, right wrong, follow the King--
Else, wherefore born?" (Tennyson)

It seems like there is a delay in all of the LC200N knives that are rolling out...I also wonder why.

If this is still the E3 / current Pacific Salt handle, I'm in for at least four. The saber grind is my #1 gripe about what it otherwise my favorite knife. Being a little lighter will be great too.

The H1 SE Pac Salt is becoming one of my most used/carried blades and is a great all around performer. Im definitely looking forward to a PE LC200N version. I feel like all salt models should have H1 for SE and LC200N for PE. I know there are logistics issues with that, but from a user prospective it would be ideal in my opinion.

Would be very keen on this one, specifically with the Endura 3 handle. :)

So tired of waiting... 🤔

So belt grinder + RIT Dye =

Image

Some ridiculously small measurement behind the edge.

20° inclusive back bevel polished on :spyder: UF stones.

30° inclusive edge bevel on :spyder: Medium stones.

Stroped on 1 micron Diamond Balsa at 30°.

Happy now. Except for my poor grinding skills.

I really hope Sal would consider a “Superlight” version of the LC200n Pacific Salt. It would, of course, have to have a modified warrantee to not include the blade. But how sweet would that be?

That must be one heck of a slicer, and it looks great.

I'm all for it as long as it has the current handle. I honestly don't know why Spyderco wants to "upgrade" it to E4 when most people are against it... :(

Man, coming up on almost a year since this. Hopefully this is in the next reveal! This will be an epic knife! I really hope a blacked out version is part of the initial release. If you want to drop some blacked out LC200N Dragonfly 2 Salts at the same time please feel free! :D
