I was able to resist this one amazingly! There are just too many other cool P3 offerings coming down the pike that I just couldn’t do it.
I think I'm finally coming to my senses.....maybe. In the very least I've finally accepted that I just can't have them all.
Like the BHQ M4 Native, I was really tempted by this one (still am) because I love M4. But I already have 3 other P3s and a Rex on pre-order. I opened BHQ a little while ago and almost pulled the trigger on the M4 Para 3. Then I thought better of it and closed the website. It's actually kind of liberating for me! My bank account's happier too.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!

Same here! This is the first Jade/M4 that I've passed on. My tastes continue to refine and I'm starting to focus on a select few favorite steels and models. Still keeping plenty though and will continue to buy new ones that fit the bill. :D
CRU-CARTA THE SEKI MODELS! AND BRING US THE DODO-FLY!
Im waiting on a DLC run. Outside of some old CV Case knives the patina thing is just not for me on modern folders. Which is where i feel like an uncoated tool steel blade is headed. But some really dig it so more power to them. Zero complaints on the para 3 fit and function though its by far one of my favorite small knives.
I prefer DLC on anything non-stainless too, but I've been surprised at how much I don't mind the patina on my Maxamet Manix. I've always thought patina looked sloppy, but the Manix has developed so gradually over time that I have just kind of not noticed it.
I had my order in a few minutes after they released the Para 3. Within one hour I had a tracking number with a scheduled delivery about 48 hours after I put in the order. And this was with their free shipping option!
I was weak. As in I ordered one!! And a deep carry clip.
I remember seeing Spyderco clipits advertised in print when I was a kid, maybe middle school days in the late 80s. Got my first one (worker) in college after seeing a friend with one. He didn’t think it was so great, but I remembered those early ads and swooned over his worker. No chamfers on the stainless scales, no idea what steel, and the mysterious Seki City stamp. Musta been good stuff. Anyway he suddenly had a better opinion of his knife. Well as such things happen, I went astray to Benchmades for 20 years or so, in fact have sold most and kept only a few including my first 720s in ATS34, 710HSSR in M2, and my 525 in 154cm. I’ve felt the pull back to my clipit roots. Imagine my surprise when I learned the once heralded 154cm is now seemingly relegated to multitool blade status and S30V is not longer the cool kid on the block. Now we have all these crazy specialty steels, some made by companies that make routers I like. I was so pleased to find a high carbon tool steel that looks like I can sharpen it without buying new kit. Loved M2, M4 should be great too.
Well that was a long story. Eager to get the knife and try it out.

Im lucky to be the first stop on my postman’s route :D
Just received mine. It’s a perfect example. I was also reading the letter that came with it, and it says two versions were made. Satin and dlc. Wonder how long before the dlc version drops.
Of course I just put in a pre-order for the Rex45...now I hear they are making this one in DLC!!! I already have the BBS M390...not sure I need 3 of these!!
Excellent QC, perfectly centered and smooth free dropping with great early lock up.
Spyderco is really hitting the mark for fine quality knives at very reasonable prices.
I have owned many custom made folders that were not close to this level of fit and finish.
