UKPK now in CTS BD1N

I picked up my ukpk today to a pleasant surprise. It's box has AR date code and the blade is stamped CTS BD1N. I can't wait to try this steel after reading about it in threads earlier this year.

I got the drop point and ordered from walmart. Depending on how new each retailer's inventory is you may get an old one with regular cts bd1

Nah. I’d ask for the newer steel specifically from an actual knife dealer.

Walmart is an authorized spyderco dealer. I work there so I get 10% off every day and can return it easily if anything is off.
Edited to add that like Amazon you must buy direct from walmart and not a 3rd party to get my discount and easy returns.

Isn't the UKPK made in Golden?

I thought we were more likely to see the UKPK and Urban in different steels, with the UKPK being USA steel (s110v, BD1, BD1N) and the Urban being European steel (N690, K390, Elmax).

You are correct about that. Plus, why in the world would Spyderco offer the Urban in BD1N when it is offered in N690, K390, and has been offered in Elmax? It would not make sense. The BD1N is going to be offered in knives that already are offered in BD1 and I presume 8CR13MOV (the Byrd line is making this transition, already).

Ive been wanting a drop point UKPK as well, but with a lock! Surprised they havent done this yet!
