Post by Mad Mac »

Allow me to use this Memorial Day weekend to remind you about
the genorous Spyderco OpFocus Professional Purchase Program.
(Thank you Spyderco.)

In addition to active duty military personnel, retirees and veterans
it's also for LEOs, Paramedics, Fire, Rescue and EMT in the United States.

The Opfocus program provides qualified Spyderco enthusiasts a 50% discount
for online purchases directly from Spyderco.
Learn more about it here: https://www.spyderco.com/resources/op-focus/

You will need to open an account and provide proof of service.
I just signed up using my brand new, digital VA identification card.

Have a good Memorial Day weekend.

This is a good place to start.
https://access.va.gov/accessva/?cspSelectFor=vic

You need a VA account and log in.
You will need something like a passport photo.
I got one at CVS Pharmacy.
They will have your DD-214, so you don't have to worry about that.

Some states have veteran status on driver licenses
or other state picture identification cards.
(My new CHL has it.)
If you have that, the VA says you don't need the VA ID card.

The VA mails a printed card, but also allows you to download
the digital version.

Dang I forgot I signed up for this a while back.

Wonder if the Pacific Salts I got the other day would have been less.
On my radar: 110V Military, Police 4 and some sweet Rex 45 Military action.

Newest Spydies: S90v Ti Military, Pacific Salt and a special Kiwi.

I saw the FB post on this Thursday or Friday. Huge thanks to Sal, Eric, and the rest of Spyderco leadership for offering this to those of us who qualify. I used the Shear ID verification: That method used my name, DOB, and month of discharge to verify me almost instantly.

I’ve already placed two orders using this program, and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thanks to everyone at Spyderco!

One of the many reasons Spyderco is such a fine and, believe me, one who worked for many and retired from IBM, I know. The loyalty, respect and commitment goes both ways. I routinely order from SFO and am grateful for this program.

Thank you!

Heh, you have to watch out for upsizing your order to reach the $150 free shipping threshold! I emerson-waved an item because the extra $5-7 or so saved me $13 in shipping. Also I've never had a wave-opener (but was ok with that). So far I haven't bought a whole extra knife just to save shipping at least... :D

Ha, I’m doing EXACTLY that! I’ve got the next few months planned out with 2-3 knives per month to “save” money on shipping. :D

I do not know why it wouldn't. Try contacting the board administrator.
