Spotted a wild bag of chips in the pantry. The ARK dispatched and field dressed quite well. I think I've got the hang of survival. :)

I recieved some excellent advice here on the forum and invested in a few Z-Cuts. Awesome kitchen knives!! The serrated one is a little beast. So good for slicing up vegetables etc. the Bow River excels at heavier tasks like splitting the hard shell on Lobsters etc. Used both knives getting a good breakfast ready this morning for me and the dog!

Military was used to hack away some briars growing across some hiking trails so the kiddos didn't run into them.

They really are handy. I keep one on the kichen counter and I reach for it over my 10" chefs knives for small, quick jobs. I also keep one in my knife roll at work.

I've been using my LC200N/Salt 2 with the Wharncliffe blade at work lately. We use many different kinds of thin sheet materials in the process of laying up carbon fiber panels. I've found the Wharncliffe blade shape works well for not only slicing material off of rolls, and piercing it, but it also works well when the material is already laying flat on a table. Rolling the blade over and placing the spine of the blade on the tabletop with the edge facing up while sliding the blade under the material will slice it with a fair amount of control.

When cutting, the tip of the Wharncliffe is positioned down lower, almost in line with your knuckles. You don't have to bend your wrist downward to use the tip or edge. Your wrist sits in a more neutral position.

One downside with the LC200N blade is the edge doesn't stand up well to some of the materials I have to cut. I've cut .005" stainless steel wire and it'll notch the edge. A few passed through a Teflon coated cloth we use and the blade has real trouble cutting any more. It turns out the fibers in the cloth are probably fiberglass. A K390 Delica/Wharncliffe would probably stand up better.

I've found this same, very subtle difference in using a Wharnie to be a great asset when doing a lot of cutting. A much more natural feeling in use. Where as something with a Persian style blade would be a nightmare to use in certain cutting tasks on the job.

Wharncliffe for the win! :D
Seriously, with a negative blade angle, it's my favorite blade shape for normal everyday cutting.

I used my new CBN Tri-Angles on my SharpMaker to sharpen a new Mantra. The CBN Tri-Angles leave a fine scratch pattern that will minimize the pattern left on the bevel from manufacturing or after using the diamond Tri-angles. Using the medium (brown) Tri-Angles after the CBN's will smooth the bevel out even more.

Second day at the beach (1st day of the season was yesterday).

I was walking by the surf and one of my legs got entangled: there was a 2 meter rope, leftovers from the fishermen.
I tried to pull it out, but couldn't.
Luckily, it wasn't a serious entanglement, I went back to my things and got the H1 SE Salt 2 to cut the rope out, as it could be a danger to someone else.

Cutting up some tomatoes for supper. It's not insanely sharp anymore, but you wouldn't know it from the way it cuts.

Agreed! That's really creative, kobold! Something like that might be a good idea for a future calendar contest. :)

Set up some racks to store our various types of threaded rod. Cut up some old braided hose to cover the hooked ends of the holders so nobody gets a boo boo.

First time I've been out since Covid. Used the Byrd Rescue yesterday and today for gillin' stripers. Dang!!! Works even better than the Hawkbill for that purpose. Kinda scary, actually. So why did I get that serrated Pac Salt ?????????? :D :D :D
