Thanks! It was a great way to end the week. :) I honestly wasn't really expecting to be a winner, as one member said it's hard to know exactly what Spyderco is looking for in these photos, but I guess I did something right this time.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Had to cut away some plastic from a vehicle fire today. The fire department already ripped the bumper cover off for me but most of the time I'm cutting that too. This is one of those jobs where plain edge is bordering on actually being an unsafe choice because the blade will slide off the material without cutting it, potentially cutting yourself, and more importantly slowing you down. This one wasn't very tense but most of the time I'm doing this quick and dirty style with cars flying past me, so making the cut the first time is absolutely essential since you don't wanna spend any more time playing in traffic than necessary.
Worst part is, almost every time I do this I bang the edge on the street. This time I even thought about it before it happened and I thought I had it under control...nope. H1 may be tough but not tougher than concrete

I can see where a pocket saw would work better than a plain pocket knife in this situation.Evil D wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 2:37 pmHad to cut away some plastic from a vehicle fire today. Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Doing some dirt work today and found myself needing to cut some things out of the way. Lucky for me I had my Manix 2 in my pocket. I washed it in a near by mud hole before putting it back in my pocket. Later in the day I got a chance to clean it back to a shine and sharpen it up for the next time I need it.
Some of my buddies cringe when I use such a nice knife to do things like this!!! LOL!!!

Looking great! Was the lock/action gummed up at all from the grit?Chuck James wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 7:13 pmDoing some dirt work today and found myself needing to cut some things out of the way. It really does in certain lighting, but definitely much darker over the past couple years of use. I've been tempted to swap the scales to my Rex45 Shaman because that's my favorite steel, but I feel like it would be a sin to do that to this icon!

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I was out tracking with my dog the other day. He was super charged so I could barely keep up with him. No gloves on of course, so I had some pretty nasty burns / wounds on my hands afterwards. One of the wounds that wouldn't heal on its own, needed some extra attention, and when the scissors wouldn't cut my bandage the Salt 2 was handy to pull from my back pocket.
I have been carrying the Salt 2 in my SAR kit the last couple of years, but never had to do any close to skin cutting of clothes. It was soothing to see how well this worked.
Yesterday I was repairing / redoing some wiring on my old mans trailer.
P3 Maxamet is still my go to for work around the house. I've had intentions on trying the Rex45 M2 in that role for quite some time, but the P3 has still to bee too little knife for what I've needed, so the gain of "upgrading" to the M2 doesn't feel substantial enough to justify the weight increase. The M2 feels ridiculously good though, so I need to overcome that barrier some day, so I can get some real world experience with it.

It had a tremendous amount of grit in it...was still able to open and close it though. Believe it or not...I was able to rinse all the grit out and lube it up without taking it apart. The Meat man wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 8:04 pmLooking great! Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Well, just opened a couple boxes in the mail today.
Nothing cool like cutting parts off a burnt car or showing how awesome the manix performs with its open back design aiding in ease of cleanup after hard use.
Really liked those photos
