Used it to slice the rind off some Old Groendal Kristal.
I'd have taken a picture, but it was all gone before I could get the camera out.

Thanks Barry! Amazing what one day of work can do to the look of DLC...though it will easily clean up. I'm normally a bit ocd and clean up my blade each day after use, but I'm going to ride this one out all week and give it some tlc Friday night. Interested in how it will look by Friday!

Hey Rick, what's your opinion on the new g10 texture for the spy27 sprints... Gonna give it a whirl when they drop?

I have actually dropped a few pallets of empty cans. Our pallets of 12oz cans had about 9,000 cans on them.

I once dropped one about 30 feet and it basically exploded when it hit the floor!

I have seen others drop up to six of them at once. It took a while to clean up. My good old can plant days!

I definitely like the color and the new texture! I'm on the fence at the moment though because I'm trying not to have more than 2-3 of any particular model. I may make an exception here though, I bet those scales have a great grip to them...I just wonder how hard they are on the pockets on top of pocket clip wear though.

Receiving the Bloke treatment is always a win!

I've been a forklift operator for a good 15 years now between my last and current job, I've thankfully only had one sketchy situation (knock on wood) when I started here at the paper mill 11 years ago. I was unloading a chemical tote of Sodium Hydroxide (extremely caustic). These totes are around 4,600lbs and are in metal containers instead of the typical plastic totes. I pulled this tote off the truck with a forklift and was bringing it to the chemical storage area...not thinking, I didn't have my forks tilted all the way back. I came up to one of our chemical containment humps in the basement and began going over it, only to have this tote slide off my forks on the way back down the hump...metal on metal doesn't provide much resistance!!

The tote has 4 legs, one on each corner and it slammed into the concrete floor on 2 of the legs and THANKFULLY crashed down on the other 2, instead of flipping onto it's side. I can't imagine how bad that could have been. I was only working here a few weeks and it really made me realize how dangerous this job could actually be. Made me pay much closer attention from there on out to what I'm doing, especially with some dangerous chemicals!

Ah, hahaha, ah, hahaha, ah, hahaha! :)

One of my best: I was a young rigger in the mid 80’s and keen to learn how to operate cranes. The company had no objections and the operators were accommodating.

This particular day I’d been working with a brand new 50 Tonne Tadano hydraulic crane. It was only about six months old. We did a little job early morning and got back to the yard early. As was the norm with no other jobs for the day, we’d refuelled, washed and lubed the machines.

I refuelled, the driver said he was going for a wee and told me I could jump in the cab unhook the hook blocks, lift the jib out of the carrier and slew it ninety degrees over the side as it makes it easier to wash etc.

I jumped in the cab payed out rope and jibbed up to unhook the blocks, jumped out and unhooked them,  jumped back in cab and slewed over the side. It kind of happened in slow motion but next thing I knew I was looking at the sky. I should have punch the outriggers down to take the weight off the tyres but I forgot. There’s a lot to remember when driving cranes. Ah, hahaha!

The crane went over backwards and sat on its counterweight . The driver was ropeable and used many expletives to describe me. The rigging boss (Dickie) was arguably the funniest man in Australia and I learned a lot of my humour from him. He near peed his pants laughing, reckoned I was a genius, told me I’d be running the show before long and I may as well grease the undercarriage before we set her back on her wheels. :p

Anyhow, there was little harm done except for the paint I took off the bottom of the counterweight.  :)

Cutting paracord to make a drawstring for my daughter's hoodie. I love when you press down and the blade pops through. So satisfying.
