I can’t believe I didn’t lose my Salt 2 today- I sat down in the seat of the zero-degree mower after picking up some trimmed branches, and I felt the clip catch on the arm rest. I felt my back pocket and the knife was still there so I didn’t think any more of it. When I stripped for my shower the knife was still in my pocket! I couldn’t believe it.

I used my native salt while making pizza with my daughter. I opened packaging and chopped chorizo with it. It was a fun little project
Just one more knife...

Just got my fw/sw fishing license today. I have 2 kids bugging me to take them fishing, so I will make that happen!

Good stuff! My niece has become quite the fisherwoman with me this summer, she’s learned a lot. Can always be a great time for the kiddos.

Tried using UKPK Salt to cut some old outdoor carpet. Killed the edge really quickly. LC200N is no edge keeping beast.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Carpet is terrible on edges. Years ago when it was the only exotic supersteel I'd tried, I dulled a ZDP 189 Endura SUPER fast on some old carpet. I was a bit shocked... but it cut a lot longer than the cheese grade knives the other guys were using on that project.
Because desolate places allow us to breathe. And most people don't even know they're out of breath.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Outdoor carpet is the worst with all the grit embedded for who knows how long. I expected the edge to dull, but not within the first few inches. I think it says more about the poor state of the carpet than blade steel. Also, it was the wrong tool for the job, which I knew, but it was what I had on me at the time.
That said, I think there might be a S110V UKPK in my future. It really is a great design.

at the risk of sounding like a broken record, sharpening makes a big difference too. Coarse edge will hold up to this use much longer than polished.

I suspected as much. This was with the out-of-the-box edge.

I'd bet $20 if you sharpened it at the factory angle on CBN or Diamond sharpmaker rods and tried again it would last a minimum of 3x as long.

Chamfered the edges of my roof vents so I could add new gaskets.
