I used the 4v Manix to cut up cardboard boxes, paper towel rolls, and milk cartons for my kid's science assignment today: use recycled materials to build a giant "anatomically correct" insect with 6 legs, 2 antennae, 3 body segments, etc.

Keep the pool- guess who would forever be cleaning oak leaves and dog hair out of it...
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I won't ever have a pool unless I also have the money to pay someone else to do all that.

Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
I've been using the Matriarch at work the past 2 days, since I've honestly never seen anybody do it before haha. It's been fun and interesting to say the least. As you can see, the SE on this thing is insanely sharp. It was actually shaving paper so fine that it was creating a bit of dust. So going into this week, I knew she was one bad momma!
It's not the most practical knife, but it's also not really that difficult to use in the warehouse work type of cuts. Using the tip to penetrate tape gets annoying from time to time as it gets caught on the "claw of death"
The tip is very useful as well though, I also like that I don't have to adjust my wrist or arm at all when doing a draw cut to open a box...the hook is already right where you want it. Anybody that has one that thinks of it more as a novelty knife, I say give it a try. It's very different, but fun to use!

Mushroom hunting!
I used my PM2, wife used my her teal DF2.
Ended up with a full Survivor Buff weighing just over a pound. And one turkey-tail from a generous fellow hunter we met!
Edit: Pheasant back. Not turkey tail. Thanks Mushroom! :spyder:

Great haul! Haven't seen any Morels in Mass. yet this season but I always keep an eye out. Also, in my opinion, that other mushroom looks a bit more like a young Pheasant Back (Dryads Saddle) opposed to Turkey Tail. Either way, some nice finds in there, happy hunting!PStone wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 5:54 pmMushroom hunting!

You’re absolutely right! Thank you! We had met, and then talked with a very friendly fellow hunter. He was telling us about all the different ones he finds out there, and gave us that to try. I do remember talking about pheasant back. I must’ve confused the names with all the info I was trying to absorb. The whole encounter was one of the coolest things to happen to us while out on a hunt.Mushroom wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 6:46 pm

I have nice set of Case kitchen knives and steak knives that belonged to my grandparents. But it's much more fun to use a cool folder to make a salad. Besides, my Manix 2 Backlock fits my hand perfectly.
Re: What did you use your Spyderco for last?
Congrats on a great day of hunting! Pheasant Back is also delicious- a much heartier mushroom than morels, so good for chili, sauces, stews, or just sautéed of course.PStone wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 6:57 pmYou’re absolutely right!
