Awesome Sal! Glad to see this one is hopefully coming to fruition. This will be epic! (i'd still buy a Rex45 Shaman in addition to this, but the Cruwear Micarta would be my #1 choice for sure)

Unless I am way off I anticipate that the demand is pretty big on this one. First Shaman sprint, first Golden Micarta folder in a long time (ever?), Cruwear (Cruwear...so hot right now...Cruwear), etc. How about 1000 pieces with Stonewash PLUS 1000 with DLC blade and hardware? I'll feel better about buying two if they are unique. :rolleyes:

The DLC might stick around for 2 days instead of 5 min and give some people (non-afis who arent sitting around refreshing 20 websites all day...guilty of this on the Rex45) a chance to get one. A single 1000 piece run may make the difficulty in getting a Rex45 blade look like a cakewalk! :)

That'll mean my first Shaman (or two)! I'm so glad this is happening!

Only 1000? I've been dreaming of a combination like this sprint for my work, but I doubt I'll even get a chance to pre-order it... Plus I'm in Europe, making things even more difficult. Try to push as many out as you can Sal, otherwise the forums will turn into heartbreak nation.

I don't think this will sell out immediately.
First of all there is no track record for a Shaman sprint since this will be the first.
Second of all this will not be "low" priced like the PM2 or Para 3 sprints.

Not so sure about that... Many are going wacko for the Para 3 in REX 45 and I've seen countless examples of people who really aren't fans of that model. The Shaman is pretty much loved by most folks, Cruwear is still a "hot" steel for many, all of that combined with micarta handles which have also seen plenty of requests and you have quite the combination here.

I can certainly agree with you on the price part though. This one will definitely not come in cheap, but I'm sure the Spyderco super fans will not bat an eye at whatever price is asked.

Price makes all the difference. How do you know the Shaman is very popular? The PM2 and Para 3 are definitely popular. We have evidence of that.

Yeah, I think this is one that is going to pull a lot of first time buyers in as well. The Micarta plus Cruwear should appeal to the fixed outdoor blade crowd who buy knifes like Bark Rivers, TOPS, ESEE, LT Wrights, and Adventure Sworns, in steels like 3V, 4V, Cruwear, 01, A2, etc with Micarta handles. You basically get all of that in a nice folding package with this knife. My guess is that they are definitely gonna need more than 1000. Especially in a Sprint run that will never be made again. I guess if this is a smashing success they could always do a different yet similar sprint in 3V, 4V, PD-1, 52100 etc with a different color Micarta like Burgundy or Green. I still would like to see them release a run of DLC Cruwear at the same time as the stonewash Cruwear (BHQ has done this with multiple models now and had no trouble selling them out). That would help more people get one of these if there were 1000 or 1200 of each blade finish. Then move on to DLC 3V with Burgundy Micarta for the next one! :D
