Shaman sprint handle material

My real desire is for blue jean micarta first, but given that's probably unlikely, i cast my vote for natural/brown canvas micarta. Dymondwood a close third. I think that'd look pretty nice.

Peel ply CF would be really interesting, though I don't know if it's possible on a handle that gets machined into a shape. Peel ply seems like it needs to be on a totally flat surface, so the edges would at least be machined smooth.

As for the sprint I'd be fine with no changes at all. I think handle changes will be where cost is increased a lot on this model so CF may be a really expensive option. I'd be ok with polished G10 like the Street Beat has.

Micartaaaaaaa! I'm with you Bodog...Blue Jean FTW. But any micarta offering would be welcome. The only thing more scarce than Cruwear in a folder is micarta.

I'd be happy with jade being relegated to bhq exclusives. For the spyderco direct sprints i have to believe that almost anything would sell better than jade unless that was the only option to get a steel more favorable than s30v.

Regular old G10 works for me. I think a polished forest green would look cool. Something similar to the south fork/sprig. Pair that with cruwear and I’m in!

Bone linen micarta looks very cool. :) Denim micarta also looks great.

I wonder if denim/blue jean micarta could be an option for a decent sized sprint run

How does different fabric effect cost vs typical linen micarta?

Denim blue jeans scales and CRUWEAR steel.

Gawd, I've wanted that combo for a long time

Denim would depend on what was used. I'm not really a fan of the lighter shades.

This..not so much.

I'm a little surprised more people haven't voted. I wonder if it's because most don't really care or if they don't like the list

I didn't vote yet cause i am a little indifferent at this moment. Too many variables if i like scales or not. It all depends on the color and material combination used for me. It could be G10 but with the wrong color or peel ply and i'd still hate it. Or micarta with some dull fibers/color pattern. I think we need to narrow stuff down first. I'd love marbled carbon fiber but i know that stuff is crazy expensive. Titanium is not a good fit for the 3D Shaman scales i think. I find the pakka/dymond wood used by Spyderco really ugly. Wood might also be tricky with shrinkage on this model.

I think the best bet for the Shaman (also keeping cost in mind) is going with either G10 or Micarta. Choose one of the two and then narrow down on some cool color/fiber combination that most like.

I voted, but I really do not care, as long as it is no maintenance (no wood) and no bright colors. Any dark color of any good synthetic is fine with me. G10, micarta, CF, all good. Darker colors, earth tones preferred. I don't need flashy, I buy users anyway.
