BBS has them listed, but do they actually have them?
They do have them in stock... but as usual they’re scalping pretty heavily since this is a hot release. $120 for the Caly Jr. +$15 shipping and no returns allowed. Bento is one of the absolute last dealers I’d resort to buying a Spyderco from.
That's kinda scummy, I don't do business with people like that.

It's still too wet here to use mine. I'm chomping at the bit to give it a good shake. Soon!...

Everytime there's a hard to find knife, that for one reason or another I missed out on. And I want it bad enough that I'm willing to pay a premium for it, I'm always super glad that a lot of people don't like Bento. Nice to not have to hunt on Ebay or with private sellers and wonder if I'm going to get burned. They have the best exclusive color too :D IMO

Yeah I prefer eBay over Bento, but I’ll buy their exclusives. Blue is too alluring for me. There are some on eBay now for around $125 and you don’t have to support BBS. I’ve seen a few come and go around $100, too.

Well I got lucky and was able to score two from Riverside Cuttlery. My beautiful bride will only let me keep one, so...

Mine showed up today. I paid a bit of a premium from a reputable eBay seller, but I would have kicked myself if I didn't grab one. About six years ago I broke the blade on my zdp version in half doing something stupid. I've been in search of a replacement ever since. I think this will be a good replacement.

Congratulations on the replacement! I don’t specifically like this color of grey (or blue? Is there a specific name for this color of handle? I can’t seem to remember) but this knife is spectacular in its color choice. The stonewashed pocket clip really matches well!

Well, that's annoying. I signed up for the notification but didn't get one. Bummer.

You're better off watching this thread than depending on dealer notifications. I signed up with multiple dealers and haven't received a notification yet. I was able to get one by following this thread. (Tip: You can subscribe to this thread to get email notifications of new posts.)

Thanks for the heads up, I really should. I seem to miss the posts by just enough for them to be out of stock.

There we are, even edges! The tip isn’t in good shape after hours on the 30 degree sharpmaker (I slipped a lot) but I can fix that when I get a new system. Now I just need to strop and polish it up.

Edit: Could have been quicker, but my sharpmaker has some chips in the fine stone :( it still has some micro chipping, but I had a lot of grinding to do and I don’t want another mistake to happen.

So I followed this thread since day one and jumped on the chance to get one from one of my favorite retailers. A week later the Caly jr showed up and I was very excited to open the Spyderco box. The Japanese paper it was wrapped in was such a cool bonus...and quite frankly my favorite part about the whole knife. I get why people love the knife and want to own it as a user or collection piece, but for me it just didn’t strike a cord.
I didn’t want to just sell it, because I remember the time it took to stalk the retailers to get one, and I didn’t want it to go to a flipper...I know I know super cheesy but it’s who I am.
I’m a member of a FB Spyderco fan page and a kid was looking for this Caly Jr sprint run. He had owned one in the past and he was super excited and hopeful to find one and I just found my Huckleberry! That’s exactly who I wanted the knife to go to:)
So I sold the kid the knife for what I paid for it and I can’t wait to ship it off to him, mostly because I know how excited he must be to have the knife coming in the mail.
Days without buying a Spyderco: 35

130 flapjacks is 99 in real money. And that's before shipping. Better than BBS, though.
