I'd bet not, only to be pleasantly surprised.

I am hoping for some Cruwear. It is already a pricey model (not saying it isn’t worth it :) ) and Cruwear doesn’t seem to come with much of an up charge compared to other steels. Also, the sturdy blade grind and ergonomic handles on the Shaman combined with a steel like Cruwear would make a great hard use knife. I’ll buy one for sure. :D

I think something tough like cpm m4 would be great for such a sturdy knife. I'd buy one in cruwear as well though. I don't have any cruwear in my collection.

I'd like to see 4V make its debut in a folder like the shaman. I think that's a great match.

As far as handle material...natural micarta!

I would definitely give the Shaman another try if you made one in Cruwear! How about an OD Green or Desert Tan?

Yeah you said it brother, however if we are talking 4v why not V4E :D

I'd like to see all the tool steels in a Shaman

4v
Cruwear
Vandias 4 extra
K390
10v

I'd also love to see these beautiful scales in Micarta

Micarta would be great! Green is my favorite color so I would always favor green. Pretty much any color G10 except black would work for me.

Not to muddy things up but the suggestion of 4V is a good one. I have the Mule and have used it quite a bit and it seems like it could be a good fit for this model. Sprints in a yet to be released steel usually go over well.

If BHQ puts this in the Jade/M4 series it would be hard to pass up.

If it's black g10 or carbon fiber or something can we, please please please, get a palladium bug inlay? The handles are beefy enough to handle that, it seems, and would add a really nice touch to it.

There was another recent thread on the Shaman where some guy with the user name sal said he'd like to see the Shaman in brown canvas Micarta and S90V - //forum.spyderco.com/viewto ... 1#p1227021. I like the way he thinks ;)

What would be the cheapest handle material to keep cost down? FRN is out of the question with no molds i guess.
I'd like to make my own custom dyed burl or micarta scales.

Eh, time IS money, it's cheaper to buy a Shaman with micarta rather then make it.

I would be absolutely fine with a simple steel sprint. The handle can stay plain black G10 for all I care. Whatever keeps cost reasonable and makes it more doable. CF would be amazing on this handle though, if it wouldn't double the cost.

I am pretty picky in the color/material i'd like that it is unlikely to come like that from the factory. And i like making stuff.
I find that many production knives just have ugly scales. Or the color i want is locked to some different steel combo with Spyderco. So i'd rather spend less money on them and more on the steel. And then either make my own or get some custom scales made.

MIcarta with an upgraded steel would be amazing. However, I would also be fine with not changing the material is it helps to keep the price reasonable.
Upgraded steel is first priority
Micarta handles would be too good to be true

+1
Upgraded steel top priority.

Isn’t the current material (3D machined g10) what kicked the price up? I would say eliminate the machining to drop the price a bit, but those smooth rounded scales are half of why I bought/love it. Is there another way to achieve a similar result that isn’t as costly?
