Where'd you pick those up?Cambertree wrote: ↑Thu Jun 21, 2018 6:53 amWasn't so into the right angled edges, or the smooth texture of the G10 scales. Better now...

Contoured, black canvas micarta, if you're interested in the same, but he can do pretty much whatever you want.

Thank you - he does quality work. :) The PM2 (in S30v) was the second Spydie I got. I was blown away by the quality and well thought out design and ergonomics. I used the heck out of that thing over the next few years - and over time, there were a few little adaptations which I thought would make it a little closer to the 'perfect' mid size folder, for my tastes.
This model, in this steel, with the few mods I've fitted to it, is just about my perfect knife, now. :)

Good lord this stuff gets sharp QUICKLY.
DMT stones up to 1200 grit (C, F, EF), followed by 1 micron on leather and skipping to 0.1 micron on leather (all diamond). I haven't spent much time at all sharpening either.

You guys talked me into one. I put the order in yesterday. Should have it Monday. I think I am going to have a custom pair of Cocobola scales made for it.

I actually likes the smooth g10 but I'm a carbon fiber junkie. Found these round contoured smooth matte CF scales from Aramis.

Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
Mine arrived Friday. Has been loved on and carried since then. Was a little surprised by the edge that mine had. Probably the worst edge I've ever received from Spyderco, even my day one Tenacious was better done than my poor Cruwear PM2... But that said, holy crap does this thing like a little stone and strop action. Perfect "little" workhorse me thinks. And boy am I weirdly in love with this smooth G10.
Have a few rust spots right below the spine on the side that touches my body following a long day outside in Texas on Saturday filled with a good bit of sweat and blade drenchings. Should buff out easily enough tonight. Was honestly expecting more spots with the day I put her through.
Action is still stiff but definitely loosening up slowly. We'll see if the action loosens up as nicely as my blurple PM2.
Now to wait for someone to run another M390 sprint to round out my PM2 family.

Got some regular oem black scales on mine. I liked the smooth g10 but this is much better.
Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
I polished mine as well. I really like it this way.

I had some old beat up OEM scales on my SE PM2 and decided to polish those as well. I think they came out really nice.

I put an order in. Looking forward to trying out Cruwear! Also curious about the smooth G10
Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
What compound do you guys use to polish the G10 scales? Also, is a cotton buffing wheel the right tool for the job?
Thanks!!

I used a blue buffing compound made by Dico. Product id on the label is PBC 7100952. I ordered it from Mcmaster Carr I believe. Its around $10 for a big brick of it. I think Amazon carries it as well.
Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
On the Knifecenter page it says the knife can be Preordered, and is due in mid to late July. Does anyone know if a second wave is coming? I remember the grey Para 3 Cruwear sprintrun was also preorder-able months after it had been released and sold out which turned out to be a mistake on knifecenter´s part.
Re: KnifeCenter Exclusive CPM-Cruwear Paramilitary 2
Looks like it's back in stock.
