Any new Millitaries coming down the pike in 2018?

#1

Post by basedlarrydavid »

Hey all -- so I picked up my first two Spydercos this week, the two KW Exclusives that are currently available (CTS-204P/Dark Green G10 and S90V/CF/TI). What incredible knives... I'm instantly HOOKED.

My favorite of the two is the 204P/G10. I just love it. So much so that I'm trying to plan my next Millie purchase. Not a huge fan of the Blurple, camo, nor black (great knives, just a personal preference). I'm actually considering buying ANOTHER 204P/G10 just to keep on ice.

That said, before I do that, has anyone heard anything about the prospect of new Millies coming out in the coming weeks or months? Full productions? Exclusives? Sprints? Got a rumor or some "inside" info? PM me!

I saw the thread on here which discusses the Spydercos that are confirmed to be released in 2018, didn't see a single Millie. Granted, I know they aren't as popular as say, the PM2 or Manix. But I figured it would be worth a shot.
More K390 and 10V, please.

Still waiting to hear if a Maxamet will drop, that's a must have. One of the best recent-ish drops was the CF 52100, can't recommend it enough

52100, M4, Maxamet... I'm seeing a LOT of non-stainless steels on here.

Does corrosion not concern you all? Honest question, still learning here!

I'm guessing there's a lot of steel junkies out there that just want the top of the line stuff to say they have it and to show it off. Some may never actually use the knife, some may use it sparingly because of the fear of not being able to sharpen these new super steels. Of course there are many who actually use their knives as well and want an edge that doesn't need to be touched up after every job or days work. The reasons probably fall within one of those categories. I'd like to think if they are spending that kind of money on a knife, that they wouldn't allow it to be used it wet conditions, or would make sure to clean it up quickly after use.

Not sure what to make of a Military in Maxamet. On one hand, they are currently not making PM2 in this steel, but the Para 3 was released without issues.

If it comes, I will take it. I'd also be in for re-release of CRUWEAR, DLT red M390, DLC M4, or something new. Does Golden make knives in K390? That would be cool also.

I just got a 52100 PM2. First thing I did was remove the blade and give it three baths in apple cider vinegar (30 mins each, wash and dry the blade between baths). I got a real nice patina (sorry, no pics right now), and the entire blade now has some protection from rust. I also oil the pivot a little more frequently than I normally would. That really makes me more comfortable using the knife for more tasks. Plus it helps that I live in a low humidity environment. Now that I own a high carbon EDC blade, I realize that the extra care the knife requires really isn't all that bad.

Here's my 52100, it gets carried a ton, love thus steel, so easy to sharpen/gets wicked sharp and seems to hold it a long time.

Most of the time, no it doesn't. It's not hard to keep a blade oiled and keep it clean. I do really appreciate steels like H1 but I also enjoy how non stainless steels perform. I may not choose them for certain jobs/environments but I like using them.

Couple of the recent ones - 52100 and M4 - are sold out. The KW exclusives have to be close to the end. Some time ago, someone on the other forum mentioned that he called KW about the Ti/CF, and said they had about a 100 left. There have been posts of quite a few purchases since.

Let's hope we get something soon.

M4 is not bad wrt corrosion. 52100 on the other hand; if you stare at it too hard it forms a patina.
