Mini Dyad C39P&S micarta - very hard to close!

#1

Post by SpyderWoman1997 »

I am the original owner of a Mini Dyad with micarta handle. I have NEVER been able to easily close either blade - requires extreme amount of pressure which hurts my thumbs and leaves an impression! Is there any way to fix that? I have been considering selling it on ebay because actually using it seems impossible (I know they are discontinued and rare).

Sorry for the obvious suggestion: have you ever lube it?

No apology needed and, no, I haven't. How exactly are you supposed to lube lock releases?? It just seems like the whole knife is sandwiched together too tightly and the rivets, of course, are non-adjustable.

Open the blade and let's drop inside a couple of drops of oil.
Have you use it for cutting fruits? Let the juice reach the inner of the knife?
Be aware that some oil could dirt the micarta
