If you had to pick just one?

Post by Daveho »

If some circumstances lead to you only being able to have a single spyderco knife to fulfill your EDC requirements, what would it be?

For me currently, I think I’d have to take a para3
I can clean a fish with it, cut up flooring with it, get through boxes and cut an apple.
it’s big enough to do harder tasks and the comp lock is great for quick one handed deployment, S30v steel holds a solid edge and sharpens easily enough.

How about you?

Delica 4 Wharncliffe :D IMO, definately an excellent all around EDC knife: Open mail, open packages, cut down boxes, create feather sticks, and for on the job tasks, the razor sharp blade can cut a seat belt, clothing, rope and zip ties like they were butter in a rescue scenario. The Wharncliffe blade also makes for a great self defense tool.

Hmm...I would pick a Native 5 Salt. Big enough for most tasks, strong and simple construction, and a steel that not only holds its edge well but is also maintenence free.

...am I just talking myself into getting one? ;)

I would choose the plain edge compression lock Lil Native.

Great size for my EDC needs. Though its small, its still sturdy enough to inspire confidence at work if I need to cut a bunch of pallet straps or even some zip ties. Also, the compression lock is one of my favorites, as is the wire clip.

I agree, from what I see, each response has mentioned a different knife.

It’s good fun starting these discussion threads, I know some of my past threads had some people offside but it’s all good natured discussion :)
