ETA on Shabaria Sprint?

#1

Post by Raylas »

Any of you kind folks know the ETA on the Shabaria with the Grey G10? I've got on on pre-order, and the wait is making me climb the walls. :D

Anybody else just dying to get their hands on one of these?

I'm waiting too. There's an overpriced one that won't sell on the bladeforums exchange. Karma will keep it unsellable. LOL

Frankly, I am surprised that Spyderco is making this sprint. It took a while for dealers to sell last sprint.

I'm just happy they did it. I always wanted a Shabaria, so I jumped on the chance.

Is it going to be a sprint or an exclusive?

Sprint. I pre-ordered at KC, but I've seen it on like 3-5 other vendors. It's a beautiful piece, I'm very excited and can't wait to hear when we'll be seeing them.

I will pass. Not a fan of peel-ply G10 ecpessially for this model

My issue is liner lock- other than the Millie, I have seen hit and miss liner locks from Spyderco.

My local shop had a Vrango, a Pattada, and a Schempp Bowie that all had liner locks that weren't solid enough for my personal tastes. As in the Tenacious had a more solid feel than these did. I consider the Military the gold standard on production liner locks as well.

I've never had a lock failure of any kind in 40 years of carrying.
What are you doing with your folders that you're afraid of your liner lock? Why aren't you using a fixed blade if you're afraid of lock failure?

So any word on when we might see these dropping? The wait is killing me, I've wanted one for so long, I can hardly wait now that I have my chance to own one!
