Para 3 Wire Clip Mod - Deeper Carry
Para 3 Wire Clip Mod - Deeper Carry
I recently ordered a replacement wire clip for my Sage 2 and figured ill get a bunch extra to mod my knives since I love the wire clip from Spyderco. The images below are done to the Para 3 with custom ti scale but it can be done to stock G10 as well. I have been carrying this clips for a couple of days now and loving it! The clip sits inside the milled out grove of the back of the scale then wedged between the nested liner and locked in place by the lanyard pin. So far it held up really well and feels sturdy.

Nice could you do that to a stock scale? Or at least G10?

That looks fanastic! Great work, Rockscale.
Re: Para 3 Wire Clip Mod - Deeper Carry
Very nicely done. What do the two clip screws do?
Re: Para 3 Wire Clip Mod - Deeper Carry
The two screws are from the original three pocket clip screws. Not sure if it's needed or not but I installed them to securely pressed the nested liner to the scale.

Yeah! I love the spyder clip. I'm going to make one for the Manix and PM2 as well. But this time I will mill the slots directly on top of the scale with a single screw, similar to the lightweight version of the Manix.

So is the clip wedged between the liner and scale? Looks pretty cool. Personally the lanyard hole placement makes perfect sense to me but I'm not one who's obsessed with burying my knife as far into my pocket as possible. If you actually use a lanyard then the tube is in the perfect place. It works well with this type of clip too.

That sir is pretty dern slick. I'm also a huge fan of the wire clip. Much prefer it especially on the smaller/lighter models. Great job.
