My wife pre-ordered mine from Knife Center in November as a Christmas present. Still no word on if they have or had them in stock and the CC wasn't charged yet. I'm hoping they're sending them soon. It's my Grail Knife.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I had a couple of emails back and forth with Knife Center on Friday. Information I got is they are filling their pre-orders slowly as the knives start to trickle in. I asked how many pre-orders they had and she said she couldn't see that. She said , however, they were working on orders from June which I believe is when this pre-order first went up.

Bad news indeed. My stomach felt like it just dropped. My worst fear is they stop making them all together, and I completely miss out. I've heard that rumor, and really hope that it's not true. I have a partially disabled hand and the Para 3 is the only one that I can open and close one handed without any pain.

Well I had a successful order and email confirmation go through this afternoon at National Knives when it showed as in stock for a very short period of time. I was refreshing the website just about once an hour checking. It came up as out of stock very quickly after. I'll believe it if the knife actually shows up at my door as delivered next week.

I got a package tonight from National Knives so it should be the Para 3 Maxamet. Only thing I ordered. I'm in Canada near the border and I shipped to a depot I use just across the border but I've got a lot of business travel and can't get there for about 3 weeks.
It's like getting a toy at Christmas that you can't play with till the snow melts.

I'd like to thank Sal for making this possible. I've really enjoyed my Maxamet Native 5 LW. It sounds like this steel has been very difficult to work with, but that knife is one of my favorites. I hope Spyderco is able to continue to offer this steel in a range of models.

That’s msrp. Spyderco feels it’s a fair price. Even they are out of stock at that price. I for one cannot seem to find one in stock and am seriously considering paying up. I’d rather pay more from a reputable dealer than try my luck on the second hand market.
