Harpy lock ?

#1

Post by Durden »

I just received a stainless steel Harpy the other day and absolutely love the knife. After playing with it some, I noticed that there is slight vertical blade movement when the knife is locked open. Just wondering if this is normal, or should I expect this knife to be rock-solid when locked open?

This is my first Spydie lockback so I am not sure what to expect from this lock. I can only compare it to my CS Vaquero Grande, which also has slight vertical wobble.

By the way Spyderco, I also have a Wegner, a Starmate and a Military. All incredible knives!!!

Hi Durden. Welcome to the Spyderco forum.

A very slight vertical play in lockbacks is fairly common if they are engineered for strength.
