Indeed. At one point I considered the Dragonfly to be Spyderco’s best, all-around, every day use knife (I no longer live on a small farm so my needs have changed) but now I believe the Chaparral FRN has taken that place. It is a superb knife. Light, thin, tough, smoothly operating little slicing machine. You would love one. Yes, precious, we loves it.
You have options....I give you : K390 Urban. Even better :spyder:
Curious. Why would that be?

Better ergos, more compact, pointier and stronger blade, same cutting edge lenght as the Chapie, second to none steel. K390 Urban is close to perfection city edc. Enough said

Hello again

I'm going to return the knife to the store.

But since I was in love with the knife, I bought it again at another ebay store, specifically here: whitemountainknives

Does anyone know this store?

I'm afraid it's going to take a few days
I hope that I have no problems ............

------------------------

As for returning it to the distributor, that's the best option. A refund and direct return to the store, no more trouble.
In our country you can forget about sending a problematic knife overseas to Spyderco and then back, it'd probably get lost in the way and if you're lucky to get it repaired and sent to you, it would be at least $50 shipping to the US and the way back...

and then in the return trip it would probably get some taxes and custom fees added to it

good luck with your new Chappie!

Thank you very much everyone for your response.

I already returned the defective knife and bought the new one in that store.
I expect them to return the first knife quickly.
I have been with Chaparral for 2 days and I look forward to receiving the new one in perfect condition

Thanks again

White mountain knives is a quality store, I've had zero issues with them.

They do also have a storefront webpage.

I have received my new Chaparral, I have bought at the whitemountainknives store.
This knife is now perfect and it has no defect.
The only small problem is that it is a bit hard to close the knife ....
I'm very happy.
A greeting.

That will work out and be easier with some use. Mine was the same and of course the narrowness of the lock back takes a little time to get used to. But this knife is a great little slicer and I see the thin lock back as a reminder that the knife is specifically made to be just that. A thin slicer! On top of that I really enjoy the size over the Delica, and the ergos are spot on for me.

I am glad you were able to get it switched out and it is to your liking!

Forum member "uke" did an amazing review with fantastic pictures and comparison pictures with other knives. This knife has been on my mind the past couple weeks and it isn't leaving. His review sealed the deal! Can't wait to get this little guy in my hands. I already have a Sage 5, which is comparable in size but something about this Chaparral, I just need it.
