Clearly the issue is excessive heat build-up, I've dealt with this in the past.

You need to immerse yourself and the whole assembly in an ice bath.

They should sell a parts kit with new brass rods!

EDIT: Oh wait...they do sell a parts kit. It's called the Sharpmaker 204 and it comes with everything you need to build a new one.

Do you use 87 octane gas or 91 for Sharpmaker?

Silly girl, you should know better than to try and sharpen 4 knives at one time. Take 3 out and you should be fine. :p

I siphon drip from an old gas well in the woods. if it's good enough for my old truck it's good enough for my spydies... makes them smell funny tho... and it eats through the FRN...

You might try cleaning the whole thing with BKF first. Then add a strop.

Good one SG! Thx for some smiles. :spyder:

I've been spending too much time on Instagram and Twitter, because I just tried to "like" your post :p

Also, you've got the Sharpmaker upside down. That might be your problem.
