It seems they go with DLC for rust prevention. How good is DLC for this purpose?
my AUS8 Cold Steels got patinas from being an entire day in my pocket during summer
Switched to DLC Coated CTS-XHP and H1 for my EDCs, no more problems

VG10 also discolored in my pocket, but no rust/pitting. M4 & ZDP will rust/pit. Your problem is similar to mine. We got ‘strong’ sweat :)
I've got the Manix 2 5120 on the way. I'm going to swap scales with My M4 Satin blade Manix with natural scales. I think it will improve the looks of both knives. A little unique too. :)

Post pics please. I do think the satin version would look better with the gray scales. I don't like the jade scales on the satin version much. I do really like the look of the DLC/jade combo.
I also got my shipping notice and tracking number, but the number isn't in the system yet, probably because of President''s Day.

I want a grey Manix G10 handle for my Maxamet blade
Got a second email from Roger Claunch, owner of KW, around midnight-- tracking number is in system now -- just two states over, it should be here right away

If there were 1,200 of these made, there have only been less than 200 sold so far. Still over 1000 remaining. I'll be getting one here when I sell a few of my others to recoup some funds.

Ordered. It looks... cool  My first 52100...this one is going to be my new workhorse ! I am not a huge fan of patinas so the fact that this one is DLC coated pushed me over the edge.

I bought it mainly to try the 52100 in my favorite knife type. I would have got it with or without the DLC.

That knife is killing me to look at it. I have been planning to by an aluminum framed Buck 110 with S30V blade and almost pulled the trigger, and then this came out and stopped me in my tracks. I am seriously debating this knife.

Just grabbed one. And I was planning on getting out of the Manix world. I was about to sell my tan m4 and my crunwear. I better break out the cru wear tomorrow and reacquaint myself.
I think the CQI is showing. This one has the smoothest out-of-the-box action of any of my Manii (did I just invent that word?), and I own far too many of them. It's definitely smoother than the last sprint I grabbed.
My package just arrived and I am looking at the knife. I am impressed. This very much exceeds my expectations.
I notice one change (a CQI thing I presume) and it is a good thing. The action is very smooth and looking at the part of the blade that the ball rides on while the blade is in motion, I see that it is crested, not cylindrical like my M4 manix I have laying here next to it. I first noticed this kind of cresting on the Native 5 I got not long ago (the green G10 without liners and S90V). Not only is this crested, but it looks polished. Very nice.
And I was surprised by the black liners and hardware. I hadn't expected that (maybe if I had more carefully read the description). This along with the medium grey G10 really makes for a nice looking knife. Sitting alongside my PM2 with 52100 and carbon fiber, I would say it is a real toss up as to which knife is the best "looker". No regrets at all about the DLC, and with all the black hardware it is really slick.
Just yesterday I was fooling with the sharpmaker and managed to get a nice edge on my PM2 with 52100. Sharpening is still a challenge for me, but even for a beginner like me, I was able to get a pretty amazing edge on this steel. The new Manix is plenty sharp, but it is good to know it won't be rocket science to sharpen it when the time comes.
