I think FFG as well, though I do wish Sal would stay true to the original blade shape and detail like the swedge. Truly hoping the Caly Jr. sprint has it, and i was a little disappointed when the Police 4 didn't.abbazaba wrote:FFG would be awesome IMO, swedge optional, but I'm not picky at this point. Some people think the image of the police model is only hollow ground with a big swedge.
An ode to the new one (in K390) would be FFG.
I would buy either, if I had to choose, I would choose hollow... or both. :)

I do feel like the Police 4 is more of a Military fit into a Police handle.xceptnl wrote:I think FFG as well, though I do wish Sal would stay true to the original blade shape and detail like the swedge. Re: More K390?
I understand that perspective. My only Police was a P3 so that is how I picture the ideal shape, it's purely subconscious. I would be pumped to get a Rookie sprint, in K390, regardless of the grind they choose.Donut wrote:I could hear an argument either way.xceptnl wrote:FFG or original grind?Donut wrote:Since we did the Police, might as well do a Rookie sprint. :D

The Delica wharnie would be the logical choice (to me ), to see just what it can do in a work knife. But not gray please. Depressing color. Hey, how about goldenrod?

Or even that 70s shade of green. I'm really looking forward to getting a wharnie Delica work knife.Jazz wrote:The Delica wharnie would be the logical choice (to me ), to see just what it can do in a work knife. But not gray please. Depressing color. Hey, how about goldenrod?

Sounds good to me.
I still thoroughly enjoy mine every day at work. It's a cutter that doesn't slide off the cardboard, etc.

Re: More K390?
I'm down with a rookie FFG K390
A Caly 3 in K390 would also be awesome.
I think K390 lends itself to being a slicer. A chapparel is pretty close to an urban in a format that would compete against itself.

The Manix 2, Manix 2 XL, and Military would be great knives to be had in this steel. I also would not mind a Native 5.

Nope, it was the green from a 70's Triumph motorcycle. It is in the original Wharn thread. Think pea soupDonut wrote:Are you talking about the color "Cool Jazz"?Jazz wrote:xceptnl wrote: Or even that 70s shade of green. I'm really looking forward to getting a wharnie Delica work knife.

I think the "Triumph Green" will resemble the foliage models that we have already seen. My feelings haven't changed since Sal noted that red was no longer restricted to trainers. Perhaps a share of red?twinboysdad wrote:Nope, it was the green from a 70's Triumph motorcycle. It is in the original Wharn thread. Re: More K390?
A modernized k390 Rookie would be great. I'd prefer double liners for just a little more heft in the hand.abbazaba wrote:FFG would be awesome IMO, swedge optional, but I'm not picky at this point. Re: More K390?
I really like K390, and have it in my Police4.
I'd have trouble saying no to it in a Manix2 or Shaman sprint. But I don't yearn for it. After all, I do have a Police4...
I think I'm less about wanting a steel I like in every Spydie model I like, and more about wanting a steel I have yet to try in some Spydie model I like.

Re: More K390?
If it showed up on a PM2, I might finally convince myself to get one. Or a Caly3.
This is the first steel I've used that truly seems to stand head and shoulders over the others.

A UKPK in K390 sounds good to me. :D
Re: More K390?
Definitely enjoying my Police 4 in this steel.
Can imagine that some other affordable users would be interesting to see in this steel so more people would actually put this steel to work.
I'd like to see it on Manix 2 LW, Native 5 LW and also like the idea of a Delica Wharnie.
A lot less likely but I would really like to see it in a version of the Pacific "Non-Salt"

Re: More K390?
Drop point please. Do you think if we keep mentioning it we might get a UKPK in 51200, or Maxamet or K390 or something? To me a US steel would make sense for a US model.D1omedes wrote:A UKPK in K390 sounds good to me. :D
