Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
Re: Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
I’m really happy spyderco is releasing big blades (not too familiar with past offerings) these are very unfortunate times for my wallet

Re: Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
Had it in hand yesterday at the meet, very nice. Like the idea about the screwed on handle scales even more now since I felt that I might end up regrinding the butt end a bit and like this I might even make my own custom scales for it, cool option to have! :)

Joris Mo. I plan on purchasing and am anxious for availability. Pretty sure I'll be with you on the "Butt Grinder" (:
Re: Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
I wonder if this model is going to be in a similar price range to the Respect. I do not know which I would prefer, would they be competing so directly.

Long time lurker, first time poster.
I have started my small collection of Spydercos a couple of years ago, when the laws changed in Denmark and made OHO folders available for us.
I am however very excited for this, and I am waiting anxiously for this to become available, making it my first fixed blade Spyderco!
Will be using it as camp knife, big hunting knife and perhaps in the kitchen on "special occasions" :)

I havnt heard much news at all on it.
I've had mine reserved for awhile now.

You really couldn't have picked a better fixed blade.PeptoBizmo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 11, 2018 11:14 amLong time lurker, first time poster.

This blade will do it all and then some imo.

Are there any pictures in hand? I feel it would give me a better perspective.

According to Sal, in a post on Bladeforum, it won't be that long. :)

Re: Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
Respect - $363.97
Province (Ankerson/Sanders Bowie) - $259.97
I do not think that they are in direct competition. They are two very, very different Bowies.

In really curious about the sheath. I assume since it's leather it will be right side only.
Re: Ankerson/Sanders Bowie Photos
The sheath for the Province is Boltaron with a "G" clip that can be reversed.
The sheath for the Respect is leather and can be worn on a belt of inside the pants with a frog (pin).

The more I look at this knife the more I feel I need to have one. Excellent job on the design. looking forward to custom scales too. I love the screw on scales. I haven't had a large fixed blade since I sold off my Busse Skinny ASH due to poor handle ergos. (For me anyway.) I can't wait to add a 4V knife to my collection.

Apparently What I have been calling a "frog" (for the Respect model) is really a stud of pin that the "frog" slips over the hold the knife in the sheath. The frog is the name for the leather strap. Brian Huegel (Country knives) is one of my historical experts and he sent the correction to me.
Thanx much Brian.

A frog carry sheath, that I made:
I like the mode of carry, as one can either carry the sheath in the frog or IWB by way of the post.
Sash carry with a static line carry is also convenient. Here another sheath, I made with a static line.
Cord at the bottom of the sheath makes sure, that sheath drops free upon drawing the knife OH.

Getting really excited about this knife! Have an up coming trip with my daughter @Kings Canyon (Rae lakes loop) and next year John Muir trail (her graduation from college ) in its entirety. Any update on availability?
