"follow suit" with an offering of it's own.

ESPECIALLY with those "spyderedge" serrations!<img src="wink.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> I know Sal's gonna chime :

"It might be "illegal"" or some other gibberish associated with the "law".

Well, what about the "Spyderfly" ( a butterfly knife ; "illegal" in just about

ANY State in the Union!?!), it makes no sense

to me gang, it's the "Indy 500" in the world

of knife manufacturing, and if <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> doesn't

make it, some other Charlie WILL!

I'm trying to get a hold of Eric to see about getting a boot rig for the lumto I'm getting in about 10days.

Can't exactly wear a vert belt sheath in a suit...

Boot knives aren't really popular these days, though they have a following much like Balis do. However, make a dagger, and put holes in it's rig for a g-clip or large tek, and I'll have a couple.

How about something along the lines of the Mini-Pentagon? One edge PE and the other SE, I'd buy it! Where's the design Dialex?

But still -- than more different spydies, than more new victims to blue bug. If this will be legal in Russia ( verry difficult to say without knowing details) -- sign me in.

I'm not sure what a "boot knife" means. Is it a fixed blade or a folder? Does it stay inside the boot or in a sheath outside it? Does a boot knife have any particularities?
IMHO, virtually any knife with a decent length may perform as a boot knife, and many spydies may be clipped on the boot.

Please layout your criteria for the Spyderco Boot Knife.

A boot knife usually means a small dagger carried in a sheath with a clip for attachment to the top of high-top footwear. (Let us remember that to much of the world, the word "boot" has many other meanings besides footwear.) Most have a double-edged blade, a thin profile, and a blade under four inches or so. I have, from time to time, clipped a Spyderco folder to a cowboy boot. I never felt the need for a fixed-blade boot knife, but the Ronin should fit that role quite well, IMHO, with a suitable sheath. I do not really like most small daggers due to edge geometry. Even so, many like them, and Allen has a valid point.

It ( the FB "boot knife" ) would have a 31/2"
to 4" blade with partial serrations on either side ; Or, partial serrations about 1" from the tip on one side ( like the ol'

Dialex, those are close to a boot knife. Boot knives usually do not have finger guards, though, since they could catch on the hem of the trousers' leg during the draw.

I've carried my Perrin in my boot before. Worked okay for me.

"Yes Indeed" I'd love to see it! I'd also like to see a "Belt Buckle Knife".

Like your idea about the blade.

I feel a boot knife needs to be a fixed blade and not a folder I feel the same way about a neck rig! Why you ask??? Because when you pull it out of it's sheath it's ready to go! Couldn't be faster!

Very cool knife with many uses! You can ware it upside down on the outside of your boot covered by your pants! (way better than the conventional ones that need to be upright!)
Just lift your foot and extract the knife.

I've toyed with the idea of a boot knife from time to time, but I find that very few people wear boots anymore....
I have a few ideas for something that would work, and even have a few of them put to steel, but find that belt/neck carry is much more likely to happen... I've never made a boot knife sheath, but suppose it wouldn't be too hard.

I would like to see a <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> version of a boot knife. I really like the SOG Pentagon/Mini Pentagon with one side serrated and the second side plain. I don't care for the grip on the mini, though.
