My vote goes to the Shaman. It's a Sal creation. It's a Golden model. It's a new design. It definitely lived up to its hype. It also seems to be making a splash on BF and appealing to non- Spydie people.

Although my favorite releases of 2017 were CS LW Manix & Native in satin s90v blades and orange handles.

My vote has to go to the Raffir Noble Chaparral.

It's a close call. I own and enjoy the Police 4, Shaman, and Manbug Salt, all of which I considered my knife of the year, however I think the Raffir Noble Chaparral edge them out solely because the scale material is so brilliant. Hopefully we will see more with Raffir scales.

Slick scales aren't for everyone or every use, but they are a joy to use as an office drone.

PM2 SpyderEdge

I decided to cast my vote for my Spyderco knife that gets the most pocket time. It was close between the CF Manix Cruwear and the PM2 SpyderEdge. Here is a recent picture taken last month while hunting.
(But it looks like I need to take a closer look at the Sliverax and Shaman! Those seem very popular.)

I have to go with the Fluted CF Native 5. I'm so glad this came back from the dead.
My EDC rotation: Kapara, Chaparral CF, Mantra, Sage 1, Sage 5, Dice, Domino, Gayle Bradley 2, PakkaDelica, Native CFF

Seems to be a tight battle between the Sliverax and Shaman for top spot

Yes. Both are way ahead of all others. Shaman is ahead of Sliverax by two votes.
  1. Shaman x14
  2. Sliverax x12

I have to give the nod to the Delica Wharnie just for the story. Nothing can touch it in that respect.

I won't take it further than a hundred paces.. :)
Without having handled one, the Shaman is a strong candidate. Also the wharnie Delica.
