Oh, too bad I was too late onto the forum. I'd loved to be there and meet Jerry Brouwer perhaps, or in any case fondle new cool knifes :-)
Have fun everyone!

Anyone who will be traveling from Limburg? Surrounding Roermond. He or she can drive with me.

I'm probably too late but I'm very interested in this get-together. I live in the Netherlands, be it on the other side of the country. Frequent Amsterdam for giggles even because everywhere in the Netherlands is never more then a 1.5h - 2h drive.

If possible I'd love to join should any of the early birds have to cancel after all.

How could I miss this thread :(

Don't worry about being singled out or language barriers. Especially in Amsterdam. Most of the population is quite capable in written and spoken English (save our elderly).

Here in my parts people don't even know what a spyderco is, less even why you would spend 200 plus euro's on a blade when the hardware shop sells them by the dozen. Not even joking. But still asking to borrow my blade's when it doesn't cut it.

Sell your fancy Mercedes/audis and get a lifetime amount of fiat pandas instead too I think to myself sometimes. no worries, low cost, and it fulfils the same function? Quantity over quality (sigh) we're a pretty rare breed here.

Came across an expert Knive constructor who only did custom blades. Apparently quite famous in his day. Upon telling him about recent developments like S110V, maxamet, he opened up and showed me some sweet decennia out of production Benchmades and that's my first real talk between 2 people who have gone over the edge about knives. Ever. Gonna read up on this some more and if in in the neighbourhood see what's it's all about ;) probably some people who want to see the city afterwards too haha.

I'll be flying through Amsterdam airport on the morning of March 4th, so will think about all you guys as I stare out the window with sad eyes. ;)

A big thanks to Spyderco and everyone attending this year's meet for making it a great day once again!
I hope the feedback given will be of help in the production and evolution of the knives shown and knives to come :)
Loved the new format of the meet and had a great time!
