I wish Spyderco would make...

#1

Post by dogrunner »

There have been a lot of interesting threads lately about upsizing, downsizing existing models, etc, but the release of the Lum Darn Dao got me thinking, that is a very cool blade, but not one I would use enough to justify the purchase (glad they made it, though, for those who want one). I found myself thinking, I wish they would do a run of the Lum Tanto fixed blade in an "upgrade" steel - Spyderco has done several great fixed blades in S90V, one of my favorite steels for edge holding.
--> So I wish Spyderco would make a Lum Tanto fixed blade in S90V!
--> To add to my continued top priority ask - a Lum Tanto folder in a 3V, 4V, Cruwear, PD1, S90V, or something up from VG10 at least. There has been a long thread on that, of course, //forum.spyderco.com/viewto ... =2&t=74121

What do you wish Spyderco would make (what is highest on your list?) ?

A Manix 2 XL in either Cruwear, S110v, or 10v.

I bet the Cruwear would be gone before pre-orders were approved. Just saying...

Actually I wish they would re-make the C-60 Ayoob model again>> and in SE & PE both. It's just too good of a folder to forget about. I also wish that Massad Ayoob and Sal Glesser would get together again for another one of his designs.

An original C52 Calypso Jr. in the carbon fiber used for the CF Dodo (no liners) instead of Micarta, Super Blue, and a matte (titanium?) clip.

oooooooooooor...

A C22 Walker (Blue Almite/CF style, tip-up clip) with titanium scales like the Lum Chinese Folder run and Super Blue.

Neither of those has a shot in the universe of ever being made, but either would make me very happy as an EDC.

I would also like to see some more Manix 2 XL options, Jade/M4, CF/s110v. How about an XL lightweight? Translucent blue FRCP & at least s30v steel, I would like screw together construction instead of the pins used on the Manix 2 LW, but it wouldn't stop me from buying one if it was pinned. Call me crazy for putting XL and LW in the same sentance, but I think it'd work!

Has (Always in flux): Shaman, Chef, Techno, M390 Para 3, Gayle Bradley 2, Manix 2 M4. Manix 2 XL, Blue Weave Domino, CF Chaparral, Vtoku2 Endura 4, D-Fly Salt Hawk SE.[/s].

Wants: Manix 2 XL CPM-M4 or 4V, Compression Lock, Tip-up Military, Yojimbo 2 XL.

I like the idea of the custom knife making service from Benchmade. You can choose between a Mini Grip, Grip, Barrage, or Mini Barrage. The Barrage variants are assisted. You can choose edge type, blade steel (quite a few options as well), handle material/color, and even some graphics/colors for the blade. How cool would it be to make a Stomtrooper PM2 (white handle, black blade and hardware)?

Slysz Rat. XHP is fine with me :)

Its funny, when I look back at the smaller/bigger threads, it was Manix2 based for me. I'm still hoping for an XL lightweight, and also for a smaller version of the Manix2... or perhaps a Sage CBBL FRCP is a more realistic request?

I find the linerless G10 Manix2 and Native5 encouraging. I'm really hoping they make a linerless contoured CF version of the Manix2 like they did the Native5.
