I think that would be a good call. I love the size but it's way too big to appeal to most folks. The mini would sell a lot better I'd imagine. It's a wonderful design head to toe.archangel wrote:Lil‘ Szabo Folder. That thing is super sexy in my eyes. If there‘d be a little brother, that‘d be splendid!

+1 Lil Manix2 LW and Lil Police4. Smaller in every dimension, not just shorter, though its probably impossible to make the Police any thinner!

about the only mini that has not been done that I'd be interested in.

Lil’ Lum Tanto
Re: You get to make any model a Lil "fill in the blank"
I like the idea of a Lil Chokwe the best. I think it could work well for a cool and unique light-duty EDC, as long as it was not scaled down as much as the Lil Nilakka vs the regular one. Maybe only a 25% size reduction, so like a 2.8 inch blade length.
Since the handle is basically just a slightly contoured rectangle with no finger grooves or anything, it should be possible to keep the "spirit" of the knife the same.
Even though I like the regular Manix 2 a lot, I think a scaled down one would be totally off due to the finger groove placement.
Lil Nirvana would also be pretty appealing, although if it wasn't possible to reduce the cost quite a bit, it would still be a bit too pricey for me.

So far Lil Chokwe and Lil Szabo getting the most live it seems...Sal, you stopped in by chance?

I'd buy both!twinboysdad wrote:So far Lil Chokwe and Lil Szabo getting the most live it seems...Sal, you stopped in by chance?
As long as the handles are still sufficient for handling! That is my biggest gripe with small knives: shorter blades still need handles sized for adult humans :) [I have small hands and the shortest handles I can get a strong grip on are still about 4", maybe a little less).
And while we're dreaming, please make 'em in a steel that does not compromise edge holding and stability for lower cost.

Re: You get to make any model a Lil "fill in the blank"
I took all day to ponder thoughts on this and the XL threads before I responded.
I can honestly say I would buy scaled down (not just shortened as David has mentioned also) versions of many of the classics like the Manix 2 or Military, but the two that came to my mind today were
Lil A.T.R. (not Jester sized, but a nice happy medium version)
Lil Barong (with maximum cutting edge use for the blade length)

Small (Lil) Nirvana. Plain handle (no milled lines).

Not necessary better. Just different.Vivi wrote:There's honestly not a single model I can think of that I'd like better if it were smaller.
I want Lil Persian with 2.5" blade for many years. Never happened. But Rhino will get this quite close.

Lil' Manix 2 lightweight would be cool.

+1. I came in here to write the same thing. Such a great design. A Lil Szabo with a clean dropping compression lock would be a must buy. Plus a "Lil" version of the Szabo would make it the size of a PM2 which would be perfect :)archangel wrote:Lil‘ Szabo Folder. That thing is super sexy in my eyes. Spyderco would sell a ton of them.
