Any of those sound great to me. If it's something bright I tend to dye it black, but I do like darker blues, grays and greens.

I'd prefer either stainless or DLC coated <insert exotic carbon steel here> if I could be picky, but I'll buy one of these in whichever steel it's offered in.

I'd bet on seeing VG10. The point as stated is to make it cheaper.

Maybe we'll get some sprints in other steels if it sells well.

I'd be very happy with VG10. Works great in my Police 3.

Very much looking forward to. 80$ street price of an FRN Police 4 in VG10 FFG? Even Sabre Ground is fine.

If it comes out in black frn and VG10 that is fine with me. I will just patiently wait for the first sprint run. :D

Two things:

1 Steel City welcome to the forum.

2 Price wise would the FRN Police Folder cost less than the G10 model?

On man I would love a Spyderco FRN Police folder with a serrated VG10 blade and a Saber Grind. That would be a dream come true!

Yes, the lower price is one of the big reasons for producing an FRN version. The G10 versions are often around 30% more expensive, e.g. G10 Endura vs FRN, G10 Cara Cara VS FRN, etc.

However, we are just beginning the project and I would guess you and I will have to be patient. Designing, engineering prototyping, tooling must be made, samples made and refined, production prototype approved, schedule for production, actual production, QC in Seki, shipping, QC in Golden....I think you get the idea. Probably a year to delivery.

Dark blue? Like a police uniform? I think most people would be okay with a midnight blue. :) That’s my vote.

Agreed. Navy blue or like denim blue.

A dark blue like the Emerson Openers makes a lot of sense. However, my prediction is black and if I could choose it'd be foliage green.

I would be just fine with a very dark blue. I would prefer foliage green, but that is just me. Blue is also very nice, and as BFK noted, it would match a lot of police uniforms.
