I'm sure they are waiting until they have a definitive answer for us, rather than saying "we are working on it", "we're busy with other stuff right now"' or "we don't know". I can't imagine all that goes into bringing a single knife to market let alone a catalog of a hundred knives with factories in 3 different countries and suppliers in many more. Plenty of opportunity for production issues. Patience isn't something I'm very good at, but I try to be. I'm positive Sal and crew have seen this thread by now, and they will let us know when they work it out.

^Agree with this.

We usually get timely responses and when we don't I assume they do not know. They try hard not to give out incorrect info and probably for good reason. If you do somebody will hold your feet to the fire for it.

Maybe it is my stoic nature but I believe something I was once told, "great expectations lead to great dissapointments". I don't want bad info or false hopes. Hopefully when they know, we will know. :)

Source?
I called Spyderco and asked them. It was the Factory Outlet that I spoke with.
I don't like the sound of this.
Especially considering the general silence around here about it... Hopefully the issue gets resolved in a manner that Maxamet can continue!
Does Spyderco regularly respond to the issues discussed on here? I would hope that they could clarify this.
I am really hoping the Maxamet continues as well.
Generally, yes, they're quite transparent. I expect they will bring the info in due time, after they've wrung out the issue.

+1 respect for taking time to respond to us at all!!! How many other big production knife companies have their founder frequenting their forums and interacting with members? Heck, how many even have a forum? Let alone discuss production issues on said public forum. What a great company!!

The Maxamet PM2 has fast become my daily carry. Hopefully it’s a success and is produced for years to come.

I as well hope that everything is sorted out and this can continue to be produced. Even if this run was the last of them that wont stop me from using mine, this has so far become my favorite PM2.
