Modded Spyderco Ambitious

#1

Post by Ruudr »

I decided to mod my Ambitious :D
I got the knife last week but I didn’t like the overly ambitious leaf shaped blade. So I tried to give it a PM2 like blade shape. Worked out pretty well I think. The transfer to the “hump” and making the spine look clean was the most difficult.
I’m happy with the result.

Here are some pictures!

Nice looking mod. Turned out really good!

That looks uncomfortable  Is your thumb always at such a steep angle using your ambitious or was it just how you held it for the photo?

Thanks! I have medium hands, but it was more for the photo ;)

What’d you use to grind it?
The first time I saw a Spyderco was the early 90s at a knife shop in a mall. I can still see the SpydieHoles through that glass display cabinet. My parents wouldn't buy any of them for me... so now I buy them all. :spyder:

I used the Work Sharp knife and tool sharpener, some diamond stones from my Wicked Edge and a strop with diamond compound.

Looks really good! I'm even getting a little Dragonfly vibe, minus the choil, of course.

Well done.
I like that look, slimming down the lil chunkster of a knife.
