Something new is now in my pocket. :D

It's a terrific little gem. Fit and finish are excellent, grinds are even, and it's perfectly centered. Home run Spyderco!

How's the action on these? Can you flip 'em closed?

Nice little knife, fills the hand well in the choil forward grip. I wish I still had a Cat to compare it to... The lack of jimping makes it feel similar to my memory of the Cat. I wish I had a Tuff Lite to compare it to (I have a mini). It's a little stiff out of the box, but not bad. A practiced wrist flick lock release will close it all the way.

Nice comparison pic abbazaba. Mine is also a little tight, but hopefully will break in nicely.

Just pre-ordered mine. Hope it is as great as I think it will be! Spyderco gave me almost exactly what I wanted. Would have loved it in LC200N and Sage 5-like CF scales.

This knife is exactly what I was looking for years ago, when I purchased my first Spydie! Easy to say, I love this knife already!

Back in 2011, I was just getting into Spyderco. I loved the Native 5. It was close enough to an acceptable size, didn't have a hump from the opening hole, and overall I just loved the lines of the knife but I couldn't find them in stock anywhere. It was to the point, that I considered the g10 Native 5 a "grail" knife. Back then, they would literally sell out like a popular PM2 sprint does nowadays. I knew I needed a 2.5" blade or less to legally carry in the city. Since I actually lived in the city at the time and couldn't find a Native 5 anywhere, my best option was to look into something else.

I was reluctant to look past the Native 5 because of my affinity for it, and just wished it as not only more available, but also available in a smaller size. I ended up deciding to get a Chaparral, because the 2.5" Native didn't exist then. ;)

Jump to almost 7 years later, and my grail is here!! :D  :spyder:

I absolutely love this knife, but one issue is a bit confusing. When closed, a portion of the 50/50 choil extends into the cutout for the compression lock. Unless you're disengaging the lock with the very tip of your finger, the choil hits your finger and the knife does not close all of the way.
This is my first compression lock so I am not sure if that is 'normal'.
