I think you will like M4 with the DLC to keep it from rusting. On you. It likes acute angles more than most very high carbide steels, and Spyderco does a good job with the heat treat as usual.Vivi wrote:Bout time we see carbon steels offered in DLC. Sign me up for one. Never did get around to trying M4, and love the XL. I'd like to support sprint runs in the bigger knives :)

It’s probably worth trying the Manix 2 regular size for you as well. I’m a big time original Manix lover, but I’ve come to really like the Manix 2. The end of the handle doesn’t make my large hands feel constrained, and the .4” less of blade isn’t the end of the world. Heck, I’ll buy the knife off you if you try it and don’t Love it. Personally I’m glad this knife is coming out because my 2010 M4 Manix 2 is very worn at this point. I’ll probably get it regroups, but still a newer version of the knife wouldn’t be a bad thing.
