I think the Gayle Bradley 1 would qualify for that description. One if the reasons I love that design so much is the way your fore finger is so close to the edge but still protected by the choil. By comparison, the edge on my Emerson is about an inch away from your hand. I know which one generates more leverage and power.
I'm a little disappointed the OP hasn't come back to answer my question. I'm genuinely interested in what EDC tasks benefit from a longer blade? I've yet to find a Pacific Salt or GB1 lacking.

Distance from the front-most edge of the handle to the tip "as the crow flies", is the blade length. Edge length would be that, minus the length of any unsharpened parts of the blade (tang, sharpening choil) that were included in the blade length measurement .
