Military and Para2 in s110v Blurple

#1

Post by TomB7777 »

I just received my new Military in s110v from BladeHQ today. Does anyone know why the
Military has a black pocket clip but the Para2 has a silver one?
Thanks!

Couldn't tell you but it leaves me scratching my head because they look like a fly in the ointment.

I polished the clip on my S110V and fine glass blasted the clip on my S30V Camo. :)

Certainly a valid question. I am pretty sure the Military is the only one of the S110V models that has a black clip. I am a fan of both the Military and black clips so I am not complaining. :)

I probably would have passed on the S110V Military if it had anything but a black clip. The black Military clips are IMHO the best clips on any spydie.

Because Spyderco love to screw with your OCD issues lol.

The good news is that black clip has the best coating I've experienced from Spyderco. It will scratch but not chip like paint. It wears very well IMO.

I have all five blurple g10 s110v spydies and yes, this is the only one that doesn't have a silver clip. I'm wondering, if I can get an anondized clip for the Millie. Slow switching them all to blue anodized titanium

I've had the S110V Military for a while now, and I realize I prefer the black coated clip over the polished one I temporarily swapped out. It's a big clip, and the black coating keeps it a bit more discreet.

I hate the shiny clip and hardware on my cts-204p Millie. I don't understand why they used shiny screws on the Blurple Millie given they had the sense to use a black clip. Some kind of fashion victim..

My pm2 stays in the drawer and will probably get sold

They must have changed the color. I bought a Spyderco Military S110V, and they now include a satin pocket clip. Apparently the small change from Spyderco just sneaked by everyone too

In the 2017 catalog it was listed with black clip, but in the 2018 catalog it was changed to satin. The Military isn't the fastest seller so it takes a while for new stock to get everywhere. I wouldn't wan't black with my OCD.

Your the first person to mention this change on the internet in history lol! I thought I was crazy, or my knife was a fake. And they dont even make a fake Blurple.

Anyways satin clip is much better for me, as it closely matches my PM2 Blurple; unlike the photo in this thread looks kinda tacky lol.

I think the black clip looks better on the dark blue s110v models and am glad I picked up a military with the black clip. I generally only like the stainless clip on the natural g10 models because IMO, it blends in better when wearing khaki pants. For everything else I prefer a black clip.

Sorry if I misinformed you earlier tps. I should've checked the 2016 & 2017 catalog before stating that all the S110V models had always been shown with satin clips. If I would've checked the earlier catalogs i would've seen the change in the 2018 catalog. I remember reading this thread a while back.

I ordered my blurple Military hoping for the black clip only to receive the satin clip. I agree with the others that have mentioned that the black clips are much more descrete. I ended up doing the dryer stonewash and then torched the clip and it looks much better :)

I put a black clip, along with black screws on my S110 PM2. I really enjoy it, regret changing back to Satin. Need to send her back into Spyderco a tune up, then I think I am gonna do that! :)
