Navigator arrived

#1

Post by JMC »

I recieved my almite navigator yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised with the size and fit to my hand. Very well made knife. Only two minor complaints-- 1. noticable amount of blade play when open ( I'll just live with it. I've read where they seem to either be tight or too loose) 2. when clipped in RF pocket hard to draw due to somewhat sharp edges on handle cutouts. This is good and bad. Good because I'm sure I won't loose the knife. Bad because of the extra effort to use.

Overall I'm very happy with the package. I'm seriously concidering this for my EDC.I'll have to compare it to my new version of the Delica which is due to arrive today.

Seems like I read a thread somewhere about why they discontinued this model but I'm not sure where. Anyone know why?

Knives are one of mans oldest tools..........not just weapons!!!!!

Congrats on your Nav - great little cutter. One of the best there is IMO.

A tiny bit if blade play is normal in lockbacks if I'm not mistaken. It's just a character of that type of lock.

Dunno why the discontinued it, to make room in the range for more fantastic new Spydies I'd guess.

I think I read somewhere that Sal Glesser was considering a Carbon Fibre version in the future.

The navigator is a great knife. I just started using my navigator again as my EDC.

I had been using a Meerkat PE 440C for the last 8 weeks or so. It just does not hold the edge like the VG-10 on my navigator.

Correct, Cool one! <img src="smile.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0> Think of what would happen with a perfectly fitted, no slack, lockback. Any crud whatsoever would compromise lock integrity, preventing lockup. Not good.

Never underestimate the impossible.

I carried my Navigator and my Mouse today. Really reminded me how great these little guys are.

JMC,
I also got my Nav today and I love it. I think it's size is absolutely perfect. It was one of the first spydies I wanted to get, but it ended up being my fourth with my fifth coming on Friday. Anyway, I am impressed with it, betting it will be a great little knife. thanks for the forum. dtsoll
