Pink Delica?

#1

Post by Sleeping Dog »

Hi Sal,
Just wondering why pink FRN isn't a permanent Delica color?

I would have thought it would sell well enough, I asking for my daughter who likes her purple Delica, but REALLY wants a pink one.

Several of us have asked for this over the years. The pink are normally a bit more expensive as part of the proceeds goes to support breast cancer. My wife would love a pink one, as well.

On a similar note, perhaps we could have a special color to support the defeat of prostate cancer in men?

Or it might simply be the result of the pink FRN Delica 4 having been a Sprint Run and Spyderco's policy not to put former Sprints into regular production. Granted, that could be avoided by using a steel other than VG-10, or making it FFG, or making it serrated or combo edge, but it may be a factor.

I either case, a pink Delica would be nice or even a pink ffg Endura. My wife can actually open the Endura easier. That's weird because she has such small hands.

They sure were limited. There was one knife shop that had an exclusive run done, they refused to sell online. They sold some to knifecenter, but knifecenter had them for a sort of high price.

I forget what the name of the knife shop was that did the run.

Quite a lovely photo, Peter.

Let's not ignore the lonesome Gen 1 pink Delica. (also in PE, though the location of mine is hiding in my cerebral crypts /8vp )

I bought my FFG from New Graham Knives back in 2010 for $64.13. I just picked up a backup with a eBay coupon recently for $20.00 more than that. It was like hitting the Spydie Lotto. lol

I hate to be the one to toss you down the rabbit hole but if you follow this thread various deals that are spotted are shared. The savings are real. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=29169&start=2780

Basically on eBay, they offer 15% or 20% coupons off on purchases. Usually around holidays, sometimes out of the blue. Mostly to buyers in the US or Canada. It can be risky unless you buy from trusted sellers with good feedback.

Got. I found the “daily deal” tab in eBay. Would it work on all the pm2 and etc being sold by collectors etc? Would be a good way to take the sting out of missing a sprint.

Did y’all see the early 90s pink Delica went for crazy money?!? Wow.

Scored a pink Delica 4!!! Frequent googling paid off. Flat grind and silver pocket clip, shallow dent in lock bar. It’s not pristine, but I’m not turning them down as I find them. I can high-grade later. At a price of $65 I could not pass it up. :spyder: I’m pretty stoked. Just need a couple more pink & purple knives to stash for when my girls are old enough.
